LIEBERMAN CAMPAIGN UNVEILS NEW N.H. AD CRITICIZING BUSH, DEAN ON HIDING FACTS FROM AMERICAN PEOPLE
Lieberman: "We Democrats are better than that"
ARLINGTON, VA -- Joe Lieberman's campaign unveiled a new television ad today criticizing both George Bush and Howard Dean for hiding facts from the American people, with Lieberman saying that Democrats are "better than that" and that he "trust[s] the American people with the truth."
Lieberman first singles out Bush for forming a secret task force to develop his national energy policy, and redacting 28 pages from a report to Congress on what went wrong leading up to 9/11. He goes to question Howard Dean's decision to negotiate a 10-year seal on his records as Vermont governor - four years longer than any of Dean's predecessors - and says that government should be open and fully accountable.
Earlier this week, Dean said he would unseal his records if Bush unsealed his, but Bush was previously forced to make his records publicly available. Dean still has not decided to open up his records.
In the 30-second ad entitled "Better Than That," Lieberman faces the camera and says, "A secret energy task force? Twenty-eight sealed pages of a 9-11 report? Why does George Bush keep hiding important facts from us? I believe in open government, fully accountable to the people. I believe in leveling with you about what I've done and where I stand. So why did Howard Dean seal his records as governor and invoke executive privilege? We Democrats are better than that. I'm Joe Lieberman and I approve this message because I trust the American people with the truth."
The ad features Lieberman speaking from a diner, continuing a series called "On the Road with Joe" in which he confronts issues currently in the headlines. It will begin airing in New Hampshire today and may also be viewed by visiting joe2004.

LIEBERMAN CAMPAIGN UNVEILS NEW N.H. AD
ARLINGTON, VA -- Joe Liebermans campaign today unveiled a new television ad airing in New Hampshire, in which Lieberman says he wants to focus the campaign on the issues that matter most to Americans expanding health care, giving tax cuts to the overburdened middle class, and protecting Social Security.
The ad, featuring Lieberman speaking from a diner, continues a series called On the Road with Joe. The ads show Lieberman confronting issues currently on the minds of the American people, and are intended to have a sense of immediacy in responding to the latest headlines.
The ad will begin airing in New Hampshire today and may also be viewed by visiting joe2004.
In the 30-second ad, Focus, Lieberman faces the camera and says, The charges are flying back and forth in this campaign. I don'''t think it's right to have raised a divisive symbol like the confederate flag. Or to give up on principles like limiting the amount of money in campaigns, as John McCain and I have fought for. I'm Joe Lieberman and I approve this message to focus this campaign on expanded access to health care, tax cuts for 98% of taxpayers, and deficit reduction to protect Social Security. That would be a fresh start.

LIEBERMAN CAMPAIGN UNVEILS FIRST ADS OF CYCLE
Two N.H. spots, on tax cuts and Iraq aid, begin airing this week
ARLINGTON, VA -- Joe Lieberman's campaign today unveiled its first two television ads, focusing on Lieberman's proposal for middle class tax relief and his support for our troops in Iraq.
The ads, which feature Lieberman speaking from a diner, are part of a series called On the Road with Joe. The series will show Lieberman confronting issues currently on the minds of the American people, and are intended to have a sense of immediacy in responding to the latest headlines.
The ads will begin airing in New Hampshire this week and may also be viewed by visiting joe2004.
Joe Lieberman will always do what's right for America, even if it's not always easy, said Campaign Director Craig Smith. These spots highlight the integrity Joe Lieberman has shown in proposing tax reform to make the system fairer, and the independence he has shown in supporting aid for our troops in Iraq.
In the first 30-second ad, Middle Class Tax Cut, Lieberman discusses his recent proposal to bring greater fairness and integrity to the tax system. In the ad, Lieberman, facing the camera directly while seated in a diner booth, initially holding a newspaper, says, Look at this. The Republicans are talking about billions of dollars in new tax breaks for corporations. It's unbelievable. They're going to ransack the whole Social Security trust fund if we don't stop them. I'm Joe Lieberman and I approve this message because we need to restore integrity and fairness to our taxes. My plan shuts down the outrageous loopholes for corporations. It raises rates for those who can afford it, and cuts taxes for the middle class. It's the right thing to do.
In the second 30-second ad, Doing What's Right, Lieberman discusses his support for the $87 billion package to support our troops in Iraq and rebuild the country. In the ad, Lieberman, again directly to the camera while seated in a diner booth, says, Eighty-seven billion dollars is a lot of money for Iraq -- too much in fact. That's the price we're paying because George Bush antagonized our allies and had no plan to win the peace. But we had to make a choice. I didn't duck it. I didn't play politics. I voted to support our troops and finish the job. I'm Joe Lieberman, and I approve this message because leadership means doing what's right, even when it's not easy.

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Joe Lieberman today released his comprehensive vision for America’s future, including the centerpiece of his economic plan: a proposal to bring greater fairness to the tax system by lowering taxes for the middle class and asking corporations and the wealthy to pay their fair share.
Lieberman’s 73-page “Leading With Integrity” plan for America, which Lieberman is promoting in a weeklong tour across the country, is available online.
“By leading with integrity, we can restore fairness to the tax code again. And we can give some real help to struggling middle class families,” he added.
country the fresh start it deserves.”
Lieberman is traveling on the Integrity tour via “WinnebaJoe” (WIN-uh-BAY-Joe) – recreational vehicles that made their debut in September on the “Journey for Joe” tour through Arizona.

"Please join us as we take this campaign from Des Moines to the White House"
The 2000 Democratic vice presidential nominee, Joe Lieberman did hold an Iowa Headquarters' Grand Opening. He later decided, as did Wesley Clark, to skip the Iowa Caucus. One wonders if he or Wesley Clark might have taken away votes from another candidate, changing the final outcome.

In his hometown of Stamford, Connecticut, Joe Lieberman announced that he was beginning an amazing journey to seek the Democratic nomination to become the next President of the United States.
He stated "I'm running for President because I want to preserve and sustain the vitality of the American Dream--which I've been blessed to live--for all Americans. Today that dream is in danger, threatened by terrorists and tyrants from abroad and a weak economy that makes it harder to live a better life here at home.
I am confident that we as nation have what it takes to overcome these challenges and renew the American Dream. But we must have the courage to rise above partisan politics and put our country first. I believe I have the strength, vision, and values to lead our nation to higher ground."
"A presidential campaign is not about one person. It is about the hard work and shared dreams of thousands of dedicated Americans. I hope that you'll join me on this journey. I look forward to seeing you on the campaign trail in the weeks and months ahead."
