Gephardt Releases New Ads in Iowa and New Hampshire
Washington, DC - The Gephardt for President campaign today unveiled two new 30-second television ads highlighting Gephardt's values and his record of leadership on trade. An ad entitled "Together" is running statewide in Iowa and "Led" is running in the Boston and New Hampshire television markets. The scripts follows:
"Together"
30-seconds, Iowa
Gephardt: I think we're all tied together. Martin Luther King once said we're all woven together in a single garment of destiny. What effects one directly, effects all the rest of us indirectly. He also said I can't be what I ought to be until you can be what you ought to be. When I'm President, I'm going to try to figure out how every person in this country fulfills his God given potential. I'm Dick Gephardt. That's why I approve this message."
"Led"
30-seconds, New Hampshire
Announcer (v/o): Nineteen Ninety Three. Democratic Leader Dick Gephardt passes the Clinton Economic Plan leading to millions of new jobs. Dick Gephardt led the opposition to NAFTA and the China Trade Deal. Wesley Clark, Howard Dean, John Kerry and Joe Lieberman all supported NAFTA.
Dick Gephardt: We must raise global standards so that everyone, everywhere does better. As President, I won't sign Trade Agreements with countries that use slave and child labor. I'm Dick Gephardt. I approve this message because it's time we change America's trade policies.
