Bush-Cheney ‘04 Launches New Ad
ARLINGTON, VA – Today, Bush-Cheney ’04 released the campaign’s newest television ad, entitled "Patriot Act." The ad highlights the importance of the Patriot Act in winning the War on Terror and John Kerry’s continued efforts to play politics with important security matters.
"The Patriot Act is an important tool in fighting the War on Terror. This important law is helping our nation track down terrorists with the same tools used to fight drug dealers and organized crime," said former New York City Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik.
"Once again, John Kerry is on both sides of a very important issue. After voting to support the Patriot Act in the U.S. Senate, he’s now attacking the common-sense law on the campaign trail," said Bush-Cheney ’04 Campaign Manager Ken Mehlman.
The new ad will air in select local markets beginning Wednesday. It will also air nationwide on cable.
Script for "Patriot Act"
President Bush:
I’m George W. Bush and I approve of this message.
Voice Over:
President Bush signed the Patriot Act giving law enforcement vital tools to fight terrorism. John Kerry? He voted for the Patriot Act, but pressured by fellow liberals, he’s changed his position. While wire taps, subpoena powers and surveillances are routinely used against drug dealers and organized crime, Kerry would now repeal the Patriot Act’s use of these tools against terrorists. John Kerry. Playing politics with national security.
