Kerry Campaign Response to Bush Distortions – New Ad “Can’t Win”
Washington, DC - Today, the Kerry-Edwards campaign is releasing an ad titled “Can’t Win” in response to the latest distortions from the Bush campaign.
Kerry-Edwards Spokesperson Phil Singer said: “Once again, the Bush campaign is insulting the basic intelligence of the public by resorting to tired and desperate tactics to cling to power. Considering that George Bush doesn’t think we can win the war on terror, let Osama Bin Laden escape and rushed into Iraq with no plan to win the peace, it’s no surprise that his campaign is distorting every word John Kerry has ever said. It’s a dishonest and disingenuous way to campaign for President and another pathetic attempt to play the politics of fear. John Kerry is going to hunt and kill the terrorists before they can come after us and no amount of selective editing by the Bush campaign can change that basic fact.”
Below is the script for the new John Kerry ad, “Can’t Win:”
NARRATOR: 95 percent of containers coming into America go uninspected. But in the first debate, George Bush said we can’t afford to fix it. Bush gives Halliburton $7 billion in no bid contracts. $200 billion for Iraq. But to inspect containers, secure bridges. tunnels, and chemical plants -- Bush says we can’t afford it. And on the war on terror, Bush said: “I don’t think you can win it.” Not with his failed leadership. It’s time for a new direction.
