CHICAGO, IL - Vowing to take the "Men Only" sign off the White House door, Ambassador Carol Moseley Braun will make her campaign for the Presidency official on Monday September 22, 2003. The Ambassador will make her announcement at 2:00 PM in the David H. Swinton Center on the campus of Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina. The stop in South Carolina will be the mid-point of a three state whirlwind tour scheduled to begin that morning in Washington DC and end at the Ambassador's Alma Mater on the Campus of the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Moseley Braun will start her day at 9:00 AM on the campus of Howard University in the Armour J. Blackburn Center. After the first announcement Moseley Braun and a few friends and family will fly to Columbia. From South Carolina she will end her day at 7:00 PM at the Chicago Circle Center on the campus of the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Ambassador Carol Moseley Braun is a graduate of Chicago Public Schools, the University of Illinois at Chicago, and received her law degree from the University of Chicago. She served in the U.S. Senate from 1992 to 1998. She was one of two African Americans to serve in the Senate in the 20th century, and the first woman to represent Illinois.
