Edwards Unveils Two New TV Ads In Iowa

RALEIGH, NC: The Edwards for President campaign announced today that it is running two new 30-second television ads in Iowa. The ads, "Better Life" and "Two Americas," highlight Senator Edwards' background and his proposals to bring real change to America.

"When you remember where you came from, you'll always know where you're going and what you need to fight for - real change that will give today's families a chance to give their kids a better life," Edwards says in "Better Life." "As president, that's what I'll fight for every day."

The ads echo the call that Edwards has been making on the campaign trail for one America that works for all of us. Under George Bush, America has become divided-with one America that is doing well and another that is living paycheck-to-paycheck and struggling to get by. Edwards will create one America by taking on the insiders and big corporations and strengthening the middle class and helping working families.

"Together, you and I can change America and make it work for all of us," Edwards says in "Two Americas."

"Better Life" and "Two Americas" began airing today and will run in markets throughout Iowa

The ad focuses on Edwards' plan to repeal President Bush's tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans and to target tax cuts to the middle class to help them buy a house and invest for the future.

"Values" New John Edwards 2004 TV Ad

Senator Edwards' New Ad Challenges Bush To Values Debate

RALEIGH, NC: Senator John Edwards Wednesday released a new television ad challenging George W. Bush to a debate about values:

"This president says he wants a values debate. We ought to give him a values debate. How about this values debate. We have 41 million people in America with no health insurance. We have twelve million innocent children with no health insurance.
"And I think given a choice between more tax cuts for multi-millionaires and covering innocent children who have no health insurance, the American people will stand where this president won't. They will stand with these kids who need help."

Edwards' health care plan will, for the first time in history, provide health coverage to all children. It will require parents to cover their children and ensure they can pay for it by expanding the Child Health Insurance Program and providing tax credits for low-income families.

"Values" will begin running in Iowa and New Hampshire Wednesday and follows "Strong," a new ad that questions the president's lack of planning and inability to secure international cooperation in Iraq.

"Strong" New John Edwards 2004 TV Ad

Edwards Questions President's $87 Billion Request In New TV Ad 'Strong'

RALEIGH, NC - The Edwards for President campaign announced today that it will begin airing a new television ad tonight entitled “Strong.” In the ad, Senator Edwards questions President Bush’s $87 billion request and criticizes the president for cutting insider deals and not involving our allies in Iraq.

“Eighty-seven billion for Iraq with no plan in sight,” Edwards says in the ad. “Billion dollar giveaways for the president’s oil industry friends like Halliburton. And no help from the allies he shut out. Is this our America?”

While Edwards believes a peaceful and stable post-war Iraq is critical for American security, he has raised a number of issues President Bush must address before he will vote for Iraqi reconstruction funds, including providing a long-term budget for reconstruction, securing the help of our allies, and creating an independent panel to oversee reconstruction contracts to ensure they are awarded fairly.

“I will not give this president a blank check,” Edwards continues in the ad. “We should stop the inside deals and work with our allies in Iraq so we can afford to make us stronger at home with health care for every child and a real plan to create jobs.”

Edwards has been a leading critic of the insider deals that have been cut under this president’s watch. The North Carolina senator has aggressively questioned Vice President Cheney’s financial interests in Halliburton, a company that has received billions in no-bid government contracts, and called for a ban on former administration officials – like Joe Allbaugh – using their connections to secure sweetheart government deals.

“Strong” will begin airing in Iowa tonight and in New Hampshire later this week. A Real Player version of the ad is available at johnedwards2004.com

"Yours" New John Edwards 2004 TV Ad

"Yours"
JOHN EDWARDS: America works best when it works for all of us.  But today Washington is not working for you.  Corporations get tax breaks to ship jobs overseas.  Drug companies block cheaper prescriptions.  Millionaires' taxes keep going down while yours go up. Why? Because money and lobbyists run our government and they own this White House. I'm John Edwards.  I've never taken a dime from PACs or Washington lobbyists, and I never will. I approve this message because I want to be your president, not theirs.
