Two New Ads on Plan to Create Jobs, Strengthen the Economy and Help Middle-Class Families

Washington, DC – The Kerry-Edwards campaign Saturday announced two new television ads, “Ingenuity” and “Powerful.” The ads focus on the choices John Kerry and the Democrats will make to strengthen and expand the middle class.

“Ingenuity” is a 30-second spot focused on the Kerry-Edwards plan to create jobs, strengthen the economy and build a stronger America.

“Powerful” features John Kerry and the Democratic Party’s commitment to put hardworking families first, unlike George W. Bush who has given billions to drug companies and tax breaks to CEOs who have shipped jobs overseas.

New Kerry Ad Condemns Bush for Tasteless Attack Ad

Washington, DC – Taking to the airwaves with a new ad titled “Juvenile,” the Kerry-Edwards campaign today is condemning George W. Bush for responding to the deteriorating situation in Iraq by running a juvenile and tasteless attack ad.

The ad will air in the same markets as the new Bush ad “Windsurfing.”

“This week has seen a further deterioration of chaos in Iraq,” said Kerry-Edwards spokesperson Mike McCurry. “And the response from George W. Bush and his campaign?  A shrug of the shoulder from the president at the U.N., and an advertisement that takes a lighthearted approach to the war in Iraq.  Mr. President, this is a shameful advertisement that shows a disturbing disregard for those fighting and sacrificing in Iraq, and you should repudiate it immediately.”

While the president attacks his opponent as events deteriorate on the ground, Kerry has a plan to win the peace and avoid failure in Iraq, including getting our allies involved, speeding up the training of Iraqi security forces and taking the necessary steps to hold elections next year.

New Ad Contrasts Kerry Plan to Cut Health Costs with Bush’s Record of Failure and Plan to Raise Costs

Washington, DC – The Kerry-Edwards campaign Tuesday unveiled a new 30-second television ad pointing out the very real differences between the health care plans of John Kerry and George W. Bush.

While Kerry has a plan to lower costs and expand access to coverage, the ad reminds voters that President Bush’s wrong choices have sent prices skyrocketing, and his wrong plans for America would increase premiums for four out of five small businesses and increase the uninsured by over one million individuals.

“When it comes to health care, George Bush’s approach has taken America in the wrong direction,” Kerry-Edwards spokesperson Phil Singer said. “He’s chosen to help his special interest friends instead of cutting the health care costs of ordinary Americans. While the Vice President has denied any “financial ties” to his old company, the truth is, he’s received $2 million from Halliburton – the same company that has gotten billions in no bid contracts in Iraq.

As today’s ad notes, the administration’s wrong choices have netted no-bid contracts for Halliburton, $2 million for Cheney and a $200 billion price tag, lost jobs and higher health care costs for the American people.
