New Clinton Ad Highlights Need for Real Solutions to America's Economic Challenges

New Ad Highlights Need for Real Solutions to America's Economic Challenges

Hillary makes clear that her campaign is about providing solutions for working Americans in a new ad airing in Maine today.

The 30-second spot, entitled "Falling Through" comes three days before Maine voters head to the polls on February 10th.

Hilary is the only candidate with a plan to end the housing crisis and help people keep their homes. Hillary's plan takes bold action to stem tide of foreclosures with a 90-day moratorium on foreclosures and at least a five year freeze on interest rates for subprime mortgages. Her plan invests billions in extending and broadening unemployment insurance for those who are struggling to find work. Hillary hears the voices of Americans concerned about economic instability and is focused on providing solutions to the problems they face.

Following is the script for the ad.

"FALLING THROUGH"

TV :30

Hillary Clinton:  The Bush economy is like a trapdoor.

Too many families are one pink slip, one missed mortgage payment, one medical diagnosis away from falling through and losing everything.

The oil companies, the predatory student loan companies, the insurance companies and the drug companies, have had seven years of a president who stands up for them.

I intend to be a president who stands up for all of you.

I'm Hillary Clinton and I approved this message.

With the Nebraska caucuses only two days away, the Clinton campaign has released a new ad featuring former Senator Bob Kerrey. In the 30-second spot entitled “Kerrey,” the former Senator talks about Hillary Clinton’s history of leadership and asks Nebraskans to stand for her in the caucuses on Saturday.

Following is the script for the ad.

“KERREY”

TV :30

Bob Kerrey: Hi I'm Bob Kerrey. I'm supporting Hillary Clinton to be our next President and hope you'll do the same.

I support Hillary because I like her, trust her, and have confidence in her as commander and chief. As a leader to get our economy back on the right track and to strengthen our rural communities, expand access to affordable healthcare, and improve the quality of our schools.

At the caucus this Saturday give your support to Hillary. She'll never let you down.

Hillary Clinton: I'm Hillary Clinton and I approve this message.

Senator Blanche Lincoln Endorses Hillary

Senator Blanche Lincoln Endorses Hillary

The Clinton campaign today announced that U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas has endorsed Hillary Clinton for President.  The announcement comes just two days after Hillary’s strong showing on Super Tuesday, when she won the popular vote and won states from Massachusetts to California.  Hillary had a particularly strong showing in Arkansas, winning the state by a 40-point margin.

In a statement on her endorsement, Senator Lincoln notes that Hillary is ready to tackle the challenges facing the nation.

“Hillary and I have worked together on issues affecting children and families since we both went to Washington in 1993.  She understands that by strengthening our working families, we are strengthening our nation.  She is well equipped to lead our country through the economic difficulties that lie ahead,” said Senator Lincoln.

“I am honored to have the support of Senator Lincoln, who has been a longtime champion for children and families,” said Clinton.  “When we take back the office on January 2009, we’re going to roll up our sleeves and solve the problems that our nation faces.  I look forward to working with leaders like Senator Lincoln to get our country back on track and deliver the change our country needs.”

Clinton Campaign Generates More Than $4 Million Online In A Single Day

SUPER TUESDAY VICTORY GENERATES MORE THAN $4 MILLION ONLINE IN SINGLE DAY

Contributions pour in from new donors throughout America

The Clinton campaign today announced that it raised more than $4 million online in the day after polls closed on Super Tuesday. It was Hillary’s biggest single day of contributions since the campaign’s launch.

The campaign had set a goal of raising $3 million in three days -- and exceeded its target in less than 24 hours. The new goal is $6 million in 72 hours.

"We are gratified for this tremendous outpouring of support, “said Clinton Campaign Internet Director Peter Daou. “From over a million volunteer hours to millions of dollars in contributions from thousands of online donors across the country, Sen. Clinton's grassroots support is a key part of her campaign's success."

In the past 48 hours, more than 35,000 donors have contributed to the campaign, helping Hillary keep pace with the combined fundraising power of Sen. Obama’s campaign, MoveOn, and Sen. Kerry’s 3 million person email list – to which Sen. Obama now has access.

More Reviews Are In: Hillary Clinton At The CNN Politico Debate

CNN’s Bill Bennett – ‘It’s a victory for Hillary Clinton… I don’t think [Obama] had enough.’ “Frankly, I think it was a little disappointing, from my perspective. I think Barack Obama had to do more than he did. I thought she won - I’ll just be crude and say she won the debate – I thought she was in control… He’s the challenger. He’s an athlete, he should know that he had to work a little harder. He was civil, he was very good on his details, I don’t think he really challenged her. And I think that’s going to be a problem. I think it’s a victory for Hillary Clinton. Super Tuesday’s coming up, I don’t think he had enough.” [CNN, 1/31/08]

Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza – Hillary ‘face the tougher questions tonight… handled them with aplomb.’ “Give Clinton credit. She has faced the tougher questions tonight and has generally handled them with aplomb.” [Washington Post’s The Fix, 1/31/08]

National Review’s Jim Geraghty – ‘I would give the win to Hillary.’ “So both were good, but I give the win to Hillary. " [National Review’s The Campaign Spot, 1/31/08]

ABC News’ Rick Klein – Hillary 'was at the top of her game tonight. '    [ABC’s News Blog, 1/31/08]

CNN’s Erica Hill – ‘Clinton really scored big.’ “Despite initial high marks from both on immigration, Clinton really scored big with this sideswipe… while Obama's accusations of Clinton's flip-flopping on driver licenses for illegal immigrants fell flat.” [CNN, 1/31/08]
