Ron Paul to Rally at the University of Minnesota Monday

Ron Paul to Rally at the University of Minnesota Monday
Republican Presidential Candidate to address Minnesota voters

MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA – Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul will deliver a speech to students, veterans, and other supporters at the University of Minnesota on Monday, February 4.  Ten-term Texas Congressman Paul is the only Republican White House contender seriously campaigning in Minnesota.

Ron Paul Minnesota state coordinator Marianne Stebbins believes that Paul’s message is more in line with Minnesotans’ political views.  “It makes sense that only Congressman Paul would be able court widespread support here,” Stebbins said.  “Only he stays above the shrill bickering and stays focused on liberty.”

Ron Paul is the only republican presidential candidate with offices and staff in the state.  His planned trip stands out among candidates as further evidence that he is paying special attention to Minnesota’s “Super Tuesday” caucus.

“The people of Minnesota are not afraid to take a stand on these crucial issues and Ron Paul knows that,” added Stebbins. “His words are like fresh air in this polluted political scene.”

The rally will take place on Monday, February 4th, from 7:00 – 8:00pm at the University of Minnesota Coffman Union Grand Hall.

Minnesota’s Republican presidential caucuses will take place on Tuesday, February 5.

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA – Republican presidential candidate and Texas Congressman Ron Paul’s campaign has been endorsed by legendary folk singer-songwriter Arlo Guthrie.

Guthrie, known for a series of hits including “Alice’s Restaurant,” issued the following endorsement of Dr. Paul:

“I love this guy. Dr. Paul is the only candidate I know of who would have signed the Constitution of The United States had he been there. I'm with him, because he seems to be the only candidate who actually believes it has as much relevance today as it did a couple of hundred years ago. I look forward to the day when we can work out the differences we have with the same revolutionary vision and enthusiasm that is our American legacy."

Ron Paul Debate Wrap-up

Debate Wrap-Up: Ron Paul is the Real Republican

BOCA RATON, FLORIDA – In tonight’s debate, Ron Paul showed once again why he is the only real Republican running for president.

Speaking of his fellow candidates, Congressman Paul said, “my biggest concern is that they won’t stick to the party principles that Republicans stood for for so long.”

Congressman Paul then cited the many ways that Republicans have abandoned their traditional conservative principles, including unbalanced budgets, massive increases in the size of government, infringing individual freedoms, and failing to strictly follow the Constitution.

Dr. Paul also observed that Republicans used to run on the platform of abolishing the Department of Education and now they now double its size – a reference to many Republicans partnering with Ted Kennedy to institute No Child Left Behind.  “The Republican Party has a problem because we don’t act like Republicans,” concluded Dr. Paul.

In his ten terms in Congress, Dr. Paul has never voted for a tax increase or for an unbalanced budget.

Dr. Paul also pointed out that he is the only candidate who has repeatedly voted against raiding the Social Security funds and has introduced a bill to stop Congress from borrowing money from the Social Security to pay for unbalanced budgets.  He also opposes taxation of Social Security benefits.

“Ron Paul has a record of sticking to his conservative principles that spans four decades,” said Ron Paul campaign manager Lew Moore.  “Dr. Paul’s record clearly shows that he’s the real Republican and the true conservative.”

Ron Paul Unveils a Real Economic Stimulus Plan

Ron Paul Unveils a Real Economic Stimulus Plan

Four-pronged approach will strengthen the economy by reforming taxes, cutting spending, improving monetary policy and eliminating burdensome regulations

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA –Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul has unveiled a comprehensive economic revitalization package.   The four-pronged plan is designed to stem the current economic slide and address the unsound governmental policies that are harming Americans’ pocketbooks.

“Real economic reform must address the underlying reasons for the current economic malaise,” said Ron Paul.  “This plan is more than just a band-aid for our economy; it fundamentally reforms four areas where government policies are damaging our national economy.  When enacted, my plan will provide both short-term stimulus, and lay the groundwork for long-term prosperity.”

The four areas that the plan covers are:

Tax Reform - Reduce the tax burden and eliminate taxes that punish investment and savings, including job-killing corporate taxes.
Spending Reform - Eliminate wasteful spending. Reduce overseas commitments.  Freeze all non-defense, non-entitlement spending at current levels.
Monetary Policy Reform - Expand openness with the Federal Reserve and require the Fed to televise its meetings.  Return value to our money.
Regulatory Reform - Repeal Sarbanes/Oxley regulations that push companies to seek capital outside of US markets.  Stop restricting community banks from fostering local economic growth.

Congressman Paul has written or co-sponsored numerous bills to enact the policies in his plan.  In Congress, he has been a champion of lower taxes and limited government.

Congressman Paul is the ranking member on the House Financial Services Committee's Subcommittee on Domestic and International Monetary Policy, Trade, and Technology.  In Congress, Dr. Paul has never voted for a tax increase or for an unbalanced budget.
