Tim Pawlenty Endorses Minnesota Congressional Candidates
St. Paul, Minnesota – Today, Governor Tim Pawlenty’s Freedom First PAC endorsed four Minnesota Republicans running for the United States House of Representatives, the latest step in his efforts to support grassroots conservatives and grow the Republican Party in Minnesota.
“More and more Minnesotans understand that spending in Congress is out of control,” Pawlenty said. “Each of these candidates will fight in Washington for less spending and lower taxes – just as we’ve done in Minnesota during my two terms as governor. I’m proud to lend our support and endorse them.”
The Freedom First PAC will contribute $2,000 to each of the campaigns. The newly endorsed candidates are:
Teresa Collett, running for Minnesota’s 4th District:
“Teresa is understands the Founding Fathers’ vision of limited government in a country where family, faith, and the free market flourish,” Pawlenty said.
“I am delighted to have the support of a man known throughout Minnesota for his common sense approach to fiscal issues,” Collette said.
Joel Demos, running for Minnesota’s 5th District:
“Joel jumped into a tough race to stand up for what Minnesotans believe. His strong campaign will not only give the incumbent a run, but benefit our statewide candidates in races where every vote matters,” Pawlenty said.
“I am grateful for this endorsement and the leadership that Governor Pawlenty has continued to show in Minnesota,” Demos said.
Lee Byberg, running for Minnesota’s 7th District:
“Lee will always protect farmers, other small business owners and the taxpayers. He’ll fight for the interests of Minnesota’s Seventh District in Congress,” Pawlenty said.
“Governor Pawlenty is a distinguished public servant who has worked hard to make Minnesota a better place to live, work, and raise a family. Like me, Governor Pawlenty knows the importance of returning to fiscal responsibility and individual liberty to ensure that generations to come have the ability to live their dreams as well,” Byberg said.
Chip Cravvaack, running for Minnesota’s 8th District:
“As a Navy officer, Chip swore an oath to protect the Constitution, which guarantees individual freedom and liberties. He will continue to uphold this oath in Congress,” Pawlenty said.
“Governor Pawlenty recognizes that the ever expanding bureaucracy of the federal government interferes with our individual liberties and hinders private-sector job creation and business expansion. I am honored to receive his endorsement," Cravvack said.
Governor Pawlenty’s PAC previously endorsed and contributed to Randy Demmer, running in Minnesota’s 1st District, and the three Republicans already representing Minnesota in Congress, including John Kline (MN-2), Erik Paulsen (MN-3), and Michele Bachmann (MN-6).
