Santorum Announces his Participation in First NH Presidential Debate
Washington, DC - Following his decisive victory in the Greenville County GOP presidential straw poll in South Carolina over the weekend, former Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) announced today that he plans to participate in New Hampshire's first scheduled presidential debate on June 7 sponsored by WMUR-TV, the Union Leader and CNN. Earlier this month, Senator Santorum was the first potential 2012 presidential candidate to commit to participating in the first presidential debate in South Carolina on May 5.
"I am committed to being an active participant in the debate process to share my views about how we can best tackle our nation's challenges, particularly in a state like New Hampshire that hosts the first-in-the-nation primary. I hope others considering a run for president will take this opportunity seriously so that we may offer solutions and alternatives to President Obama's failed policies," Santorum said.
Senator Santorum continues to seriously consider a run for president, and he will travel back to New Hampshire for a three-day swing later this week. This will be his 14th trip to New Hampshire.
