The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum Announces the Opening of the "Headed to the White House" Exhibit
The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum announces the opening of the "Headed to the White House" exhibit, on display in the museum's Ansary Gallery of American History from Sept. 1, 2011 through July 29, 2012.
"Headed to the White House" is an interactive exhibit designed for all ages, capturing the excitement and pageantry of the presidential election process from the first primaries through the presidential inauguration.
The exhibit allows visitors to step into the roles of the many different people involved in presidential elections. Visitors will see what it's like to be a presidential candidate, try their hand at running a presidential campaign, write their own election news story, and learn how to get involved in the process, even if they're too young to vote.
"The 'Headed to the White House' exhibit is designed for anybody who wants to learn more about the electoral process and what it takes to be a candidate for office and to manage a campaign," said Bush Library and Museum Curator Susie Cox. "What better way to kick off the 2012 presidential campaign season?"
"Headed to the White House" is in partnership with the National Constitution Center and the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation, and is made possible through the generosity of the The Annenberg Foundation, The Pew Charitable Trusts, and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
