Republican Presidential Candidate Herman Cain Makes Second Visit To Alabama (Itinerary)

Birmingham, AL - Republican Presidential Candidate Herman Cain will make several appearances in  parts of Alabama the last weekend of October. Herman Cain, former CEO of Godfather's Pizza, has recently experienced a surge in national polls after taking first place in the Florida Straw Poll which was held on September 24th.

Mr. Cain was invited by the Alabama Federation of Republican Women to be their keynote speaker at their biennial convention being held in Huntsville on Saturday, October 29th. "We are thrilled to have Mr. Cain as our main speaker," said Elois Zeanah, President of the AFRW. "He recently won the straw poll held by the National Federation of Republican Women at our national convention. His popularity among conservatives cannot be denied and we are looking forward to hearing this dynamic speaker address our organization."
 
Mr. Cain will be in Alabama on Friday, October 28th and Saturday, October 29th and will speak to conservative and grassroots organizations in Anniston, Talladega, Birmingham, Montgomery and Tuscaloosa. "This is the second time that Mr. Cain has visited our state, and just like last time, it is my goal to make sure that as many Republicans as possible across the state get the opportunity to meet and hear presidential candidates as they come through Alabama," stated Bill Armistead, Chairman of the Alabama Republican Party. Mr. Cain was the main speaker at the Shelby County GOP Lincoln Reagan Dinner held in July and also visited Tuscaloosa to tour the tornado damage and meet with voters during that trip.
 
"His small-government message resonates with Alabama Republicans and I believe he will find a receptive audience wherever he goes in our state," added Armistead, who will appear at several events with Mr. Cain.
 
On Friday afternoon at 2:30, Mr. Cain will make a personal appearance at the Alabama Republican Party headquarters in Homewood in order to turn in his qualifying forms and fee. He will hold a press conference  immediately afterwards. "Mr. Cain's decision to qualify in person is a testament to the important role that Alabama will play in the primary process next year, as he is the second candidate so far to make the effort to do so," stated Armistead. Former Gov. Mitt Romney personally submitted his qualifying forms and fees at the Republican Headquarters last month. "It also reflects the affection I know he holds for Alabamians and the southern hospitality he receives while visiting our fair state."
 
Following the press conference, Mr. Cain will travel to Montgomery for a gathering being hosted by conservative radio show talk host Dan Morris. "I am honored to be the conduit to introduce our audience to presidential candidate Herman Cain," said Morris.
 
On Saturday morning, Mr. Cain will speak at the West Alabama State Straw Poll being held at the Bryant Conference Center in Tuscaloosa by the West Alabama Republican Assembly. "Mr. Cain's presence will be the highlight of the event," commented Don Wallace, Tuscaloosa County Commissioner. "We are looking forward to hosting him in Tuscaloosa again. I am confident he will find a great many supporters in our community and from throughout our state." This is the second visit that Cain has made to Tuscaloosa in the last three months.
 
Saturday afternoon, Mr. Cain will accompany Chairman Armistead to a tailgate party at the Samford University Football game in Birmingham and will then travel up to Huntsville to attend a private reception before speaking at the AFRW convention.
