WASHINGTON - Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus released the following statement on Speaker Newt Gingrich's decision to suspend his campaign:

"I want to congratulate Speaker Gingrich on the campaign he ran," said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. "Speaker Gingrich has been a tireless leader in our party for decades, and I know he will continue to be an outspoken advocate for conservative policies and Republican principles--not only in this election, but also for years to come.
