ABC News Digital's Coverage of the 2012 Presidential and Vice Presidential Debates Will Stream Live on YouTube's "Election Hub"
Today, ABC News Digital joins forces with YouTube to launch the YouTube Election Hub (youtube.com/politics), a one-stop destination for the latest political highlights, videos and campaign news. This all-access YouTube channel brings ABC News, Al Jazeera English, BuzzFeed, Larry King, The New York Times, Phil DeFranco, Univision and the Wall Street Journal together in one place to share political news coverage and highlight key moments that will shape the 2012 election cycle.
Technology continues to transform election news coverage and ABC News Digital has partnered with YouTube to provide users the information they need to make an informed, clear choice on Election Day. From the convention floors to the voting booth, ABC News, YouTube and seven of the most trusted names in news will work together to give voters up-to-the-minute news and unparalleled access to the electoral process.
YouTube's unique platform allows ABC News to continue to create and deliver news content to a wider digital audience. YouTube reaches 800 million people a month in 24 different countries and regions around the world. As the only U.S. English-language broadcast partner, ABC News Digital will also produce live stream coverage of the 2012 Presidential and Vice Presidential Debates, which will be featured on the YouTube Election Hub in October.
ABC News Digital platforms will provide live coverage of the conventions from 7:00-11:30 p.m., ET on ABCNews.com, Yahoo!, Yahoo! News, GoodMorningAmerica.com on Yahoo!, ABC News' iPad & iPhones apps, as well as on ABC affiliate websites. ABC News Digital will also offer live stream coverage of the opening day of the Republican National Convention on Monday, August 27 at 2:00 p.m., ET, along with twice-daily "Politics Pop" videos, convention video clips and the latest political highlights from the convention floors.
Live-streamed coverage will be anchored by ABC News political director Amy Walter and Yahoo! News Washington Bureau Chief David Chalian. They will be joined throughout the night by Diane Sawyer, George Stephanopoulos, "World News" weekend anchor David Muir, senior White House correspondent Jake Tapper, senior political correspondent Jonathan Karl, senior Washington editor Rick Klein, political contributor Matthew Dowd, as well as Yahoo!
