
Black Violin, Chris Cornell and Soundgarden, D-Nice, Dan Moose, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Hudson, Maná added to talent lineup
Pentagon Channel partnership to expand coverage of Commander-in-Chief’s Ball
WASHINGTON, DC – The Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC) announced today new talent scheduled to perform at the official Inaugural balls Monday, January 21 at the Washington Convention Center.
Alicia Keys, Brad Paisley, Chris Cornell, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Hudson and Marc Anthony will perform at the Commander-in-Chief’s Ball, where President Obama and Vice President Biden will honor the brave men and women of our country’s armed forces and their families. Dan Moose will DJ the event. Tickets to the Commander-in-Chief ’s Ball are being provided free of charge by the PIC to all invited guests, who include active duty and reserve military, Medal of Honor recipients, and Wounded Warriors and their spouses. The event will take place in the Ballrooms of the Convention Center, nearly doubling the size of the event from 2009. Doors open to the public at 6 p.m.
At The Inaugural Ball, Alicia Keys, Black Violin, Brad Paisley, Far East Movement, FUN., members of the Glee cast, John Legend, Katy Perry, Maná, Smokey Robinson, Soundgarden, Stevie Wonder and Usher will perform on multiple stages. D-Nice will DJ the event, which will be a unified celebration for Americans from across the country, bringing together members of the public, grassroots volunteers, local community leaders and supporters, various organizations, and local and state elected leaders. The Inaugural Ball will use every Hall in the Convention Center, and together with the Commander-in-Chief’s Ball, total capacity will be similar to 2009, when six balls were held throughout the Convention Center. Halls A, B and C of the ball doors will open to the public at 6:30 p.m. Halls D and E doors open at 7 p.m.
The PIC also announced today a partnership with the Pentagon Channel for the Commander-in-Chief’s Ball that will allow members of the U.S. military from around the world to join in the celebration and watch the event live. The Pentagon Channel broadcasts to nearly all military installations and is also available via cable, reaching 1.3 million service members in the United States and nearly a million overseas. A live stream of the event will also be available online at www.pentagonchannel.mil.

The following items are prohibited at the Washington Convention Center during inaugural events: outside food and beverages, large bags, strollers, sharp or pointed objects, umbrellas, aerosol containers, guns, knives, and weapons of any type and size.
