CHICAGO – President Obama released the following statement today in reaction to Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s endorsement:

“I'm honored to have Mayor Bloomberg's endorsement. I deeply respect him for his leadership in business, philanthropy and government, and appreciate the extraordinary job he's doing right now, leading New York City through these difficult days.

“While we may not agree on every issue, Mayor Bloomberg and I agree on the most important issues of our time - that the key to a strong economy is investing in the skills and education of our people, that immigration reform is essential to an open and dynamic democracy, and that climate change is a threat to our children's future, and we owe it to them to do something about it. Just as importantly, we agree that whether we are Democrats, Republicans, or independents, there is only one way to solve these challenges and move forward as a nation - together. I look forward to thanking him in person - but for now, he has my continued commitment that this country will stand by New York in its time of need. And New Yorkers have my word that we will recover, we will rebuild, and we will come back stronger.”

CHICAGO— Just a few days from the election, Mitt Romney isn’t where he wanted to be. As a result, Romney is stooping to desperate attacks, including one of the most misleading, hypocritical, and indefensible ads we’ve ever seen in a presidential race. In response, Obama for America has released new television ad “Cynical” to capture the remarkable desperation behind Romney’s current strategy. When Romney falsely suggested that Chrysler and GM are moving production to China, Chrysler itself debunked the myth and GM said the rumor comes from “some parallel universe.” The American people want a President they can trust, and long ago the middle class stopped trusting the man who wanted to “let Detroit go bankrupt.”

“Cynical” will air in Michigan and Ohio.

PRESIDENT BILL CLINTON TO CAMPAIGN IN FLORIDA AND VIRGINIA ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY

CHICAGO—Obama for America announced today that President Bill Clinton will campaign in Florida on Friday, November 2 and Virginia on Saturday, November 3. In Florida, President Bill Clinton will campaign in Fort Myers, Palm Beach, Palm Bay, St. Petersburg and Tallahassee. On Saturday, President Bill Clinton will campaign in Chesapeake and Roanoke and then join President Obama and Dave Matthews for an evening grassroots event in Bristow, Virginia.

PRESIDENT OBAMA TO CRISSCROSS THE COUNTRY THE WEEKEND BEFORE ELECTION DAY

CHICAGO—Obama for America announced today that President Obama will crisscross the country the weekend before Election Day to highlight the choice in this election between moving forward with an economy built to last, or returning to the same, failed economic policies of the past.

On Saturday, November 3, President Obama will deliver remarks at grassroots events in Mentor, Ohio; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Dubuque, Iowa and Bristow, Virginia.  On Sunday, November 4, the President will campaign in Concord, New Hampshire; Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; Cincinnati, Ohio and Aurora, Colorado.
