Obama for America Releases New Television Ads and Blog SeriesCHICAGO -- Obama for America is releasing two new television ads to encourage supporters to make their voices heard and vote for President Obama on or before Election Day. The campaign is also announcing the first in a series of blog posts tracking our progress in early vote states over the next 13 days.
In a new television ad titled “537,” Americans are reminded that in the 2000 presidential election, only 537 votes changed the course of history – the difference between what was and what could have been. It could be just as close in this election and the stakes are even higher. That’s why Americans should make their voices heard and vote on or before November 6.
And in a new television ad titled “He’s Got it Right,” former President Bill Clinton reiterates President Obama’s plan for the next four years: to invest in the middle class, education, and innovation, and to pay down our debt with spending restraint and by asking the wealthy to pay a little more. These plans aren’t just a theory – President Clinton himself has already proven that they work to create jobs and turn deficits into surpluses.
In addition, OFA is also launching a new series of blog posts from National Field Director Jeremy Bird on Wednesday to provide updates on the ways our historic grassroots operation is already churning out tangible and verifiable results. We’re winning early vote in the battleground states that will decide this election – a key part of our plan to win 270 electoral votes. We’re outperforming our early vote margins in key states compared to 2008, and we’re ahead of where we were against John McCain – and most important, ahead of Mitt Romney. Bird’s posts, the first one is available HERE, will help tell the story of the volunteers and supporters on the ground who are making it happen – and making it to the polls in huge numbers.
“He’s Got it Right,” will air in Nevada, Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Ohio, and Virginia.
