Mitt Romney Announces Nebraska Endorsements

Today, Mitt Romney’s Free and Strong America PAC announced the endorsement of the following eight Nebraska candidates:

Governor Dave Heineman:  Dave Heineman serves as the Governor of Nebraska and is running for reelection.

Congressman Jeff Fortenberry:  Jeff Fortenberry represents the 1st Congressional District of Nebraska and is running for reelection.

Congressman Adrian Smith:  Adrian Smith represents the 3rd Congressional District of Nebraska and is running for reelection.

Congressman Lee Terry:  Lee Terry represents the 2nd Congressional District of Nebraska and is running for reelection.

Attorney General Jon Bruning:  Jon Bruning serves as the Attorney General of Nebraska and is running for reelection.  

Auditor Mike Foley:  Mike Foley serves as the Auditor of Public Accounts in Nebraska and is running for reelection. 

Secretary of State John Gale:  John Gale serves as the Secretary of State of Nebraska and is running for reelection.

Don Stenberg:  Don Stenberg previously served the people of Nebraska as Attorney General, and is now running to become Nebraska’s next Treasurer.

The PAC also announced that it is sending $5,000 to Heineman’s gubernatorial campaign, and $2,500 each to the Congressional campaigns of Fortenberry, Smith, and Terry.

“At a time when too many of our leaders are more concerned with growing the size of government than getting our economy back on track, it is more important than ever that we elect fiscally conservative candidates who will enact pro-growth policies that will put people back to work.  Nebraska is fortunate to have so many leaders committed to working to turn our troubled economy around, and I am proud to stand with them today,” said Romney.

Mitt Romney Endorses Jim Huffman For Senate In Oregon

Former Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney joins a growing list of political and business leaders endorsing Jim Huffman's candidacy for the U.S. Senate.

"Jim Huffman will be a leader fighting for lower taxes, controls on spending and the pro-growth policies that are necessary to create jobs and get our economy moving again. As a constitutional scholar, he understands that big government and liberal spending programs threaten the personal freedom and individual liberty that are at the core of our democracy," said Romney.

Huffman was pleased to receive the endorsement, stating, "I am very grateful to have the full support of one of our country's proven leaders. Mr. Romney and I share the same goals - standing up against the reckless spending, higher taxes and runaway national debt." Huffman added, "He knows what it takes to turn this economy around and I'm proud to have him on my side as we fight to restore accountability to Washington D.C."

Mitt Romney Endorses Denny Rehberg for Congress

Today, Mitt Romney’s Free and Strong America PAC endorsed Montana Congressman Denny Rehberg’s reelection campaign.

“With over 30 years of experience as a small businessman and public servant, Denny Rehberg understands the importance of enacting pro-growth policies that will turn our troubled economy around and put people back to work.  A committed fiscal conservative, Denny will continue to fight for lower taxes and fiscal discipline and that is why I am standing with him today,” said Romney.  

Romney’s PAC is also sending Rehberg’s Congressional campaign a $2,500 contribution.

Mitt Romney Announces Oregon Endorsements

Today, Mitt Romney’s Free and Strong America PAC announced the endorsement of the following four Oregon candidates and said it is contributing a total of $17,500 to their campaigns:

Chris Dudley:  Chris Dudley, a successful businessman, philanthropist, and former professional basketball player, is running to become Oregon’s next Governor.

Congressman Greg Walden:  Congressman Greg Walden currently represents the 2nd Congressional District of Oregon and is running for reelection. 

State Representative Scott Bruun:  Scott Bruun, a state representative and businessman, is running to represent Oregon’s 5th Congressional District. 

Rob Cornilles:  Rob Cornilles, a successful business owner and active community leader, is running to represent Oregon’s 1st Congressional District. 

The PAC also announced that it is sending Dudley’s gubernatorial campaign a $10,000 contribution, and that it is sending the Congressional campaigns of Walden, Bruun, and Cornilles each a $2,500 contribution. 

“Rather than enacting pro-growth policies that will encourage private sector growth and put people back to work, far too many of our leaders are instead turning to the false promises of big government and slowing our economic recovery.  Oregon – and our nation – needs leaders who will say no to the culture of higher taxes, higher spending, and higher debt, and that is why I am proud to stand with these candidates today,” said Romney.

Mitt Romney Announces Oklahoma Endorsements

Today, Mitt Romney’s Free and Strong America PAC announced the endorsement of the following six Oklahoma candidates and said it is committing a total of $10,500 in support to their campaigns:

Congresswoman Mary Fallin:  Congresswoman Mary Fallin currently represents Oklahoma’s 5th Congressional District and is now running to become Oklahoma’s next Governor.

State Senator Todd Lamb:  Todd Lamb currently serves as an Oklahoma state senator and is now running to become Oklahoma’s next Lieutenant Governor.

Congressman Tom Cole:  Congressman Tom Cole currently represents the 4th Congressional District of Oklahoma and is running for reelection. 

Congressman Frank Lucas:  Congressman Frank Lucas currently represents the 3rd Congressional District of Oklahoma and is running for reelection. 

Congressman John Sullivan:  Congressman John Sullivan currently represents the 1st Congressional District of Oklahoma and is running for reelection. 

James Lankford:  James Lankford served as the director of a Christian youth camp for over a decade, and is now running to represent the 5th Congressional District of Oklahoma. 
The PAC also announced that it is sending the Congressional campaigns of Cole, Lucas, Sullivan, and Lankford each a $2,500 contribution, and that it has already sent Fallin and Lamb each a $250 contribution toward their respective campaigns.

Mitt Romney announces Additional Michigan endorsements

Today, Mitt Romney’s Free and Strong America PAC announced the endorsement of the following 11 Michigan candidates and a total of $28,400 in contributions to their campaigns:

Congressman Dave Camp:  Congressman Dave Camp currently represents the 4th Congressional District of Michigan and is running for reelection.

Congressman Thaddeus McCotter:  Congressman Thaddeus McCotter currently represents the 11th Congressional District of Michigan and is running for reelection.

Congresswoman Candice Miller:  Congresswoman Candice Miller currently represents the 10th Congressional District of Michigan and is running for reelection.

Congressman Mike Rogers:  Congressman Mike Rogers currently represents the 8th Congressional District of Michigan and is running for reelection.

Congressman Fred Upton:  Congressman Fred Upton currently represents the 6th Congressional District of Michigan and is running for reelection.

State Representative Justin Amash:  Justin Amash currently serves as a state representative and is now running to represent the 3rd Congressional District of Michigan.

Rocky Raczkowski:  Rocky Raczkowski, a former state representative and businessman, is now running to represent the 9th Congressional District of Michigan.

Tim Walberg:  Tim Walberg previously represented the 7th Congressional District of Michigan and is running to reclaim his seat. 
Bill Schuette:  Bill Schuette has served the people of Michigan as a Congressman, Director of Agriculture, state senator, and appellate judge, and is now running to become Michigan’s next Attorney General.

The PAC also announced that it is sending Congressman Camp, Congressman McCotter, Congresswoman Miller, Congressman Rogers, Congressman Upton, State Representative Amash, Benishek, Huizenga, Raczkowski, and Walberg each a $2,500 contribution toward their respective Congressional campaigns.  It also has previously sent Bill Schuette a $3,400 contribution toward his campaign to become Michigan’s next Attorney General. 

 “Rather than enacting policies that will strengthen our economy and put people back to work, too many of our leaders are instead focused on growing the size of government.  It is more important than ever before that we have elected officials who will make the tough decisions needed to put Michigan – and our country – back on the right track, and that is why I am endorsing these candidates today,” said Romney.

Today, Mitt Romney’s Free and Strong America PAC endorsed Rick Snyder for Michigan Governor. Romney is traveling to Michigan on Monday to attend campaign events with Snyder.

“Rick Snyder is a successful businessman, manager, and job creator, which makes him uniquely qualified to lead Michigan through these challenging economic times.  Rick will promote pro-growth policies that will put people back to work and get Michigan back on the right track,” said Romney.

Governor Romney Announces Western State Endorsments

Governor Romney today announced a series of western state endorsements. In all, Romney’s Free and Strong America PAC is endorsing nine candidates in Colorado, Wyoming and Washington state and sending them a total of $25,000 in PAC funds. Among the endorsees are Ken Buck, running for U.S. Senate in Colorado; Dino Rossi, running for U.S. Senate in Washington; and Matt Mead, running for Governor in Wyoming.

District Attorney Ken Buck:  Ken Buck currently serves as the Weld County District Attorney in Colorado, and is now running to serve the people of Colorado in the U.S. Senate.

City Councilman Ryan Frazier:  Ryan Frazier, a city councilman and small businessman, is now running to represent the 7th Congressional District of Colorado.

State Representative Cory Gardner:  Cory Gardner currently serves as a Colorado state representative and is now running to represent the 4th Congressional District of Colorado.

State Representative Scott Tipton:  Scott Tipton, a state representative and successful small businessman, is now running to represent the 3rd Congressional District of Colorado.

Attorney General John Suthers:  John Suthers currently serves as the Attorney General of Colorado and is running for reelection. 

Walker Stapleton:  Walker Stapleton, a successful businessman, is now running to become Colorado’s next State Treasurer.

The PAC also announced that is sending each of the federal candidates a contribution, namely $5,000 to Buck’s Senate campaign and $2,500 each to the Congressional campaigns of Frazier, Gardner and Tipton.

Today, Mitt Romney’s Free and Strong America PAC endorsed the following Wyoming candidates:

Matt Mead:  Matt Mead, a small business owner and former U.S. Attorney for Wyoming, is now running to become Wyoming’s next Governor.

Congresswoman Cynthia Lummis:  Congresswoman Cynthia Lummis currently represents Wyoming’s Congressional District and is running for reelection.

“Too many of our leaders are intent on enacting policies that will grow the size of government and further stall our economic recovery.   Wyoming – and our nation – needs fiscally conservative leaders like Mead and Lummis who will work to turn our ailing economy around, and put people back to work,” said Romney.

The PAC also announced that it is sending Mead’s gubernatorial campaign a $5,000 contribution and Lummis’s Congressional campaign a $2,500 contribution.

Romney Endorses Dino Rossi for U.S. Senate

Today, Mitt Romney’s Free and Strong America PAC endorsed Dino Rossi, who is running to serve the people of Washington in the U.S. Senate.

“A successful businessman and former state senator, Dino Rossi is committed to restoring fiscal discipline and transparency to Congress.  Dino will stand up to the Washington culture of higher spending, higher debt, and higher taxes, and will make the tough choices necessary to get our economy back on track,” said Romney.

Romney’s PAC is also sending Rossi’s campaign a maximum $5,000 contribution.

Today, Mitt Romney’s Free and Strong America PAC added two Missouri candidates to its previously announced slate of endorsements in the state.

Vicky Hartzler:  Vicky Hartzler, a former state representative, is now running to represent the 4th Congressional District of Missouri.

Billy Long:  Billy Long, a successful small businessman, is now running to represent the 7th Congressional District of Missouri

The PAC also announced that is sending Billy Long and Vicky Hartzler each a $2,500 contribution toward their respective Congressional campaigns.

 “Rather than enacting pro-growth policies that will put people back to work and turn around our economy, politicians in Washington are instead focused on growing the size of government.  We need leaders like Vicky Hartzler and Billy Long who will stand up to the Washington culture of higher spending, higher taxes, and higher debt.  The road to taking back our majority in Congress runs through Missouri, and I am proud to stand with them today,” said Romney.

These are the second wave of Missouri endorsements announced this year by the PAC.  The PAC has previously endorsed the following Missouri candidates:

Congressman Roy Blunt, who won his primary election last week, and is running for U.S. Senate;
Congresswoman Jo Ann Emerson, who won her primary election last week, and is running for reelection in Missouri’s 8th Congressional District;
Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer, who won his primary election last week, and is running for reelection in Missouri’s 9th Congressional District;
Congressman Sam Graves, who won his primary election last week, and is running for reelection in Missouri’s 6th Congressional District;
Ed Martin, a community leader and public servant, who won his primary election last week, and is running to represent Missouri’s 3rd Congressional District; and
Tom Schweich, a former U.S. Ambassador, prosecutor, law enforcement official, and author, who won his primary election last week, and is running for Missouri State Auditor.
