AUSTIN - Republican Party of Texas State Chairman Steve Munisteri issued the following statement upon the selection of Paul Ryan as the Republican Vice-Presidential nominee.
 
"I am ecstatic about the selection of Paul Ryan as Governor Mitt Romney's running mate for the upcoming November election. Texas Republicans had the rare opportunity to meet and hear from Congressman Ryan at the 2012 Texas GOP Convention in Fort Worth this June. He electrified the crowd with his speech and demonstrated to our delegates his breadth of knowledge on the issues, his intellect and his excellent communication skills."
 
"Hearing the announcement filled me with enthusiasm and I am sure that most other Texas Republicans had the same reaction. In our view, the selection of Paul Ryan is a home run.
