Atlanta, GA -- Newt 2012 National Security Advisor Stephen Yates shared the following statement in response to Senator Rick Santorum's criticism of Newt Gingrich's American space policy:

"I am deeply concerned that Senator Santorum so easily relinquishes space development to the Chinese and Russians.

"American success in space is not only about being the first to develop a station on the moon. It is just as much about the explosion of math, science, engineering and national security technology that will launch America into a new age of innovation and prosperity.

"We owe it to ourselves to set grandiose goals and then achieve them. It is the American way."

Minnesota’s Republican National Committeeman Jeff Johnson Endorses Newt Gingrich for President

Today I announced my support for Newt Gingrich in the 2012 presidential race and am signing on to help out with his campaign in Minnesota in any way they need me.

 
My reason for supporting Gingrich is simple: He has the ability to articulate a conservative vision for America far better than any other candidate in the race. I introduced former Congressman J.C. Watts at a Gingrich rally this morning, and he reminded us that Margaret Thatcher used to say, “Win the argument and you win the votes.” Newt can win the argument.
 
I don’t believe the strongest candidate in November 2012 is necessarily the one who polls the best in January 2012, but rather the one who can make the case most aggressively, passionately and convincingly in favor of the conservative principles of personal responsibility, free markets and American exceptionalism. Of the Republicans in the current field, Newt Gingrich creates the strongest and most compelling contrast with Obama, and when a vast majority of Americans feel the country is on the wrong track a compelling contrast is exactly what we need in our candidate.
 
I’m not in the Anyone But Romney camp, by the way. Should Mitt Romney be our nominee, I’ll be very happy to support him and work hard for his election. But today, for whatever it’s worth, I’m proud to throw my support to Newt Gingrich.

Newt Gingrich to Hold Forum with Gingrich Faith Leaders at International Church of Las Vegas

Atlanta, GA -- Newt Gingrich will appear at the International Church of Las Vegas today for a question and answer event with members of the Gingrich Faith Leaders Coalition. The International Church is the largest non-denominational church in Nevada. Its senior Pastor is Paul Goulet.

Newt Gingrich will be joined by George Barna, Chairman of the Gingrich Faith Leaders Coalition, and Jim Garlow, a national co-chair for the coalition.

In a statement posted on the church's website, Pastor Goulet explained that this is an event to hear from Speaker Gingrich through prayer.

"Because I truly believe that America is a nation at a crucial juncture, I’ve invited leaders of all kinds to join us" said Pastor Goulet.  "The Speaker will be sharing his heart and give us a chance to ask questions at the end of the prayer meeting."

Denver, CO – Newt 2012 announces its growing team in Colorado is going to be joined by longtime Republican activist, former University of Colorado Regent, and Larimer County GOP Chair Tom Lucero.

Lucero commented, “I have always admired Speaker Gingrich, particularly his leadership with the Contract with America. Because of his leadership Republicans were able to gain a footing in congress that has lasted almost continuously for two decades. I remember listening to his tapes while riding the campaign circuit in 1996. In addition to a vision for the conservative movement, Newt also provided the action that led to a Republican take over of congress.”

Lucero continued, “as someone who spent twelve years fighting for conservative values at the University of Colorado, Newt is the one person who understands we are fighting on many fronts, including a cultural battle for the heart of America. Newt can articulate that vision of America and more importantly, will fight for that vision of America.”

The campaign has already started focusing on the February 7 presidential straw poll, but is also keeping their eye on the prize -- delegates. “While we would like to win the straw poll, it’s not nearly as important as getting as many delegates as possible. We have a long way to go and the only way we win is with delegates at the convention, not straw polls. Our goal is to deliver every delegate for Newt,” Lucero concluded.

Newt 2012 Announces Its Full Florida Gingrich Faith Leaders Coalition

Atlanta, GA – Newt 2012 has announced its full Florida Gingrich Faith Leaders Coalition.

The Honorable Kurt Kelly, who served as a State Representative for Marion County, is leading the coalition. The coalition will spearhead faith outreach and events leading up to the Florida primary and for the general election. The coalition will join the national coalition, led by George Barna, Tim and Beverly LaHaye, Jim Garlow, Don Wildmon, J.C. Watts, and Richard Lee.
