RNC and State Republican Parties Announce Partnership in Support of Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker
DES MOINES, Iowa– In our continued effort to support Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker in his critical June 5th election, the Republican National Committee is partnering with multiple state parties to mobilize volunteers and grassroots activists throughout the Midwest and across the country.
Many states are already sending volunteers to Wisconsin, and now using the RNC's innovative Social Victory Center, volunteers can make calls directly from home to voters in Wisconsin and across the country. To increase nationwide participation, RNC Chairman Reince Priebus and the Chairmen of the Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, and Minnesota Republican Parties are announcing two competitions--one among states and one among individual volunteers.
"It is absolutely critical that all Republicans join together in supporting Gov. Scott Walker. Wisconsin is better off because Scott Walker is governing as he campaigned--balancing the budget, putting Wisconsin families first and implementing pro-growth economic policies," said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. "I hope a little friendly competition will encourage Republicans outside of Wisconsin to give their time to this important effort."
"The Illinois GOP has proudly 'adopted' Wisconsin to offer our support to Gov. Walker," said Illinois Chairman Pat Brady. "Illinois Republicans will be working hard from now till June 5 to help Gov. Walker-and to prove we can best every other state in volunteering."
"In Indiana, we understand that victory in Wisconsin is a victory for taxpayers and freedom of choice over selfish special interest groups," said Indiana Chairman Eric Holcomb.
"Every Hawkeye Republican should take a few minutes to make calls and make a difference," said Iowa Chairman A.J. Spiker. "It doesn't take much time to make a big impact."
"A vote for Gov. Walker is a vote for jobs, fiscal responsibility, and efficient government," said Michigan Chairman Bobby Schostak. "Now we need to make sure every voter understands that."
"Minnesota Republicans stand proudly with our neighbors to the east," said Minnesota Chairman Pat Shortridge. "June 5th is a chance for us to send a clear message that will reverberate from Wisconsin to Washington, DC."
The top 10 nationwide callers will receive a Social Victory Center Captain fleece from the RNC and optional promotion across the RNC's social media platforms. The caller with the greatest number of dials will receive a personal phone call of congratulations and thanks from Chairman Priebus.
The three states with the greatest number of volunteers using the SVC phone from home application will be prominently featured on the Social Victory Center and highlighted across the RNC's social networking platforms.

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus Statement on the Texas Primary Election
WASHINGTON - Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus released the following statement regarding the results of the Texas primary:
"I congratulate Gov. Romney on winning the Texas primary and securing the delegates needed to be our party's official nominee at our convention in Tampa," said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus.
"Gov. Romney will offer America the new direction we so desperately need. We cannot afford four more years of President Obama's big government agenda, deficit spending, and attacks on American free enterprise.
"At a time when the country must empower the private sector to create jobs, we need a leader who actually understands job creation and respects the private sector. That leader is Mitt Romney."
Governor Perry's Texas Republican Primary Election Night Statement
Anita and I congratulate Mitt Romney on securing the Republican nomination and think it is appropriate that the strongest economic leader and jobs state has put him over the top in an election where President Obama’s failed jobs and economic record will be front and center.
Texas voters again demonstrated their strong commitment to conservative values to keep our state on the fiscally responsible path leading to jobs and opportunity. I’m proud to have supported strong fiscal and social conservatives across Texas who will join me in working to support stricter limits on government spending, opposing tax increases and preserving a strong rainy day fund.
Now, more than ever, we must work to send a proven conservative leader like David Dewhurst to Washington, where he can put the Texas approach to work to overhaul Washington.

DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz Statement on Mitt Romney Securing the Number of Delegates Needed to Become the Republican Nominee
Washington, DC – DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz released the following statement on Mitt Romney securing the number of delegates needed to become the Republican nominee:
“Tonight, after six years of trying and millions of dollars spent, and after a year of tepid support against one of the weakest fields in history, Mitt Romney has finally secured enough delegates to become the Republican Party’s presidential nominee. Romney may have finally gained enough delegates to become the nominee, but what’s been truly remarkable about his path to the nomination is how much damage he's left in his wake as he enters the general election.
“On women’s rights, Mitt Romney’s message has been clear: he wants to ‘get rid of’ federal funding for Planned Parenthood and refuses to say whether he would have signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act into law. When it comes to educating our kids, Romney said he didn't think smaller class sizes help students. And when it comes to jobs and the economy, Mitt Romney's economic scheme is familiar and troubling: more budget-busting tax cuts for the wealthy; fewer rules for Wall Street--the same formula that benefited a few, but crashed our economy and punished the middle class.
“On what should be a good news day for Romney, he once again reminds us of his commitment to ‘Romney Economics’ and the far-right wing of his party with his pandering to Donald Trump. Mitt Romney’s lack of moral leadership is striking: he values the support of folks like Trump – no matter how extreme their views. This November, Americans will have a clear choice between an economy that is built to last and one that is built on outsourcing, loopholes, and risky financial deals that jeopardize our entire economy and threaten the security of the middle class. Those failed policies are not what Americans want, and that’s why they won’t support Mitt Romney in the fall.”
MITT ROMNEY: TONIGHT, WE BEGIN THE WORK OF RESTORING OUR COUNTRY TO GREATNESS
Boston, MA – Today, Mitt Romney released the following statement on clinching the required number of delegates for the Republican nomination.
“I am honored that Americans across the country have given their support to my candidacy and I am humbled to have won enough delegates to become the Republican Party's 2012 presidential nominee. Our party has come together with the goal of putting the failures of the last three and a half years behind us. I have no illusions about the difficulties of the task before us. But whatever challenges lie ahead, we will settle for nothing less than getting America back on the path to full employment and prosperity. On November 6, I am confident that we will unite as a country and begin the hard work of fulfilling the American promise and restoring our country to greatness.”
NEW HAMPSHIRE REPUBLICANS ANNOUNCE PROMOTION, NEW HIRE
Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Republican State Committee announced today that Jacob Avery will serve as the Deputy Victory Director for the 2012 elections and Meg Stone will join the NHGOP as Field Director and Deputy Press Secretary.
“We’re continuing to expand our ground game for the November elections, and over the coming weeks and months we will open offices and hire more staff,” said New Hampshire Republican State Committee Chairman Wayne MacDonald. “We must make Barack Obama a one-term president and redouble our efforts to elect our Republican candidates all across the state. We will have the resources we need to be successful, and today’s announcement is a commitment to victory.”
Jacob has worked on campaigns in New Hampshire and New York since 2006. Prior to his position at the NHGOP, in 2010 he served as Field Director for State Senator Andy Sanborn and State Representative Laurie Sanborn during their successful campaigns. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh and an M.P.A. from Marist College. Jacob will work in the Victory operation with Director Brennan Ward.
“Jacob has been a great asset for our State Party. He’s worked tirelessly ensuring that we have a full slate of candidates, advising campaigns across New Hampshire and much more,” Chairman MacDonald added. “He brings a wide-range of local political and field experience to our Victory program.”
Meg Stone became politically active while she was a student at Keene State College where she re-started the College Republicans and served as chairman from 2010-2012. She most recently served on the field staff for Romney for President during the 2012 N.H. Primary. In 2010, she served as Volunteer Coordinator for the Bender for Senate campaign. She serves on the executive board for the N.H. Young Republicans and received the Norris Cotton Award for Cheshire County in 2012. Meg graduated from Keene State College with a B.A. in U.S. History.
“We’re excited to have Meg join our team,” said Chairman MacDonald. “She’s a talented New Hampshire native whose enthusiasm, political experience and young Republican network will help our entire GOP ticket in November.”
