Rick Santorum Receives Ensorsement From Former Major Leaguer Carlos Baerga In Puerto Rico

SANTORUM RECEIVES ENSORSEMENT FROM FORMER MAJOR LEAGUER CARLOS BAERGA IN PUERTO RICO
 
Verona, PA - While campaigning in Puerto Rico, Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum received the endorsement former major league baseball player Carlos Baerga.

"I support Rick because he is a Christian and has fought for the people of Puerto Rico for many years, and stands behind the people on the issue of statehood," Baerga said.  "I am grateful to have played professional baseball in the United States and I want all young people to have the same opportunity, and Puerto Rican statehood would make that possible."

Baerga played for the Cleveland Indians, New York Mets, Boston Red Sox, and the Washington Nationals.  He is the only major leaguer to hit a home run from both sides of the plate in the same inning.

Santorum said, "I was a fan of Carlos for many years and I'm thrilled to have his endorsement.  Carlos is a role model for so many because of his career in baseball and his life as a Christian."

CHICAGO, IL -- Today Vice President Biden will deliver remarks at the United Auto Workers Local 12 Hall in Toledo, Ohio on the President’s efforts to create an economy built to last based on a system where hard work pays, and on the critical role the auto industry is playing in growing the economy and strengthening the middle class.

The event is the first of what will be a series of remarks that the Vice President will deliver in the coming weeks about the economy and the middle class that will frame the issues that will be at the core of the general election and the choice America will make in November about the future we want for this country.

The President didn’t flinch.

This man has a spine of steel.

He knew rescuing the industry wasn’t popular.  He knew he was taking a chance.   But he believed.

He said, we are not going to give up on a million jobs, and the iconic industry America invented.  Not without a fight.

We all want a president with the courage of his convictions. 

Well folks, we have one. 

He made the tough call.

And the verdict is in: President Obama was right and his critics were dead wrong.

And ultimately that’s what this election is all about.  It’s about a choice.

Ron Paul Draws 4,600-plus Voters to Illinois Town Hall Meeting at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul drew an incredible 4,600-plus supporters and undecided voters to a massive town hall meeting in Illinois.

The event took place at 7:00 p.m. CST at the University of Illinois, located at 1206 South Fourth Street, Champaign, IL 61820. Due to a deluge of early RSVPs for Dr. Paul’s campus town hall meeting, the original university speaking venue of Foellinger Auditorium was switched to George Huff Hall, which was filled to capacity and then some. Event organizers noted that today’s balmy weather of about 80 degrees resulted in a hot temperatures inside the un-air conditioned Huff Hall, yet the crowd was as engaged to listen to Dr. Paul as ever.
