WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus released the following statement regarding the last night’s Iowa Caucus results:
 
“Last night’s results in Iowa are a win for the Republican Party as we head into an important election cycle and show just how dissatisfied Americans are with Barack Obama. After three years of failed policies, it’s clear voters are fed up with the Obama presidency that is taking us in the wrong direction. With record breaking turnout, over 120,000 Iowans caucused to help elect a Republican to the White House, and according to entrance polls, 38 percent of last night’s participants were first time caucus-goers showing enthusiasm for the GOP as we work to make Obama a one-term president.
 
"Congratulations to all of our candidates for their effort to beat Barack Obama. Iowa is the first of many contests and we look forward to what’s in store in New Hampshire and the rest of the primary process. We have a great group of candidates and the real winner is the Republican Party.

County Level Data Released for the Iowa Democratic Party Caucuses

DESMOINES – With 97.18 percent of precinctsreporting, the Iowa Democratic Party has released county-level data for statedelegate equivalents earned in tonight's Democratic caucuses. 

President Obama earned 98.46 percent of the reported delegates to the state convention, with 1.54 percent reporting as other. Data is available by county at http://iowademocrats.org/caucus/hPressVt76HujI/.

"The results tonight areclear and speak for themselves: the President received over 98% statewide andenjoys broad and strong support across the state," said Iowa DemocraticParty Chairwoman Sue Dvorsky. "This was a great chance for our supportersto get together to train and take the next steps toward building the strongest grassroots organization possible to ensure the President wins Iowa in November and stays in the White House for four more years."

The 2012 state conventionwill be held in Des Moines on June 16th.
