LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul will address college students and Iowans at two “Youth for Ron Paul” campus rallies to energize young supporters and reach out to new and undecided voters in the run-up to the January 3, 2012, Iowa Caucuses.
 
The first event, which is free and open to supporters of all ages, will be held on Thursday, December 8th in the Iowa State University (ISU) Memorial Union Great Hall, located at 2229 Lincoln Way in Ames.  Doors will open to the public at 6:30 p.m.  To enter 30 minutes early and secure a spot near the front of the room, RSVP for the ISU event featuring Dr. Paul at http://ronpaulatisu.eventbrite.com/.

Youth for Ron Paul (YFP), an initiative of the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign, launched on Wednesday, September 7th and since its inception more than 15,300 people signed up to get involved, forming 307 chapters in 46 states.

As presidential candidate Herman Cain shares his “9-9-9 Plan” with American voters, his message to renew our country by putting citizens back to work and strengthening our national security position via economic dominance is resonating from coast to coast. To help spread the message of Mr. Cain’s “9-9-9 Plan” to every voter, the Cain Campaign has launched a five minute movie detailing why “9-9-9” is superior and fairer than the current tax code.

Americans know that the current tax system is broken. It suffocates American business growth and is a leading cause for our slow economic recovery over the past few years. So, what would happen if we scrapped all 82,000 pages of the current tax code and simplified things with Herman Cain's "9-9-9 Plan"?

Solid showing among the Hawkeye and Granite States’ likely GOP caucus-goers and primary voters

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul polls third among likely Republican caucus-goers in the key first-in-nation state of Iowa, according to a recent American Research Group poll, and different angles to this survey reveal his support may keep him anchored in third place or higher.
 
Congressman Paul also polls third in New Hampshire, according to a recent WMUR/University of New Hampshire poll.
 
In Iowa, Congressman Paul garnered 16 percent of the likely Republican caucus goers surveyed, on the heels of Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich who earned 20 and 27 percent, respectively.  Paul’s third-place showing in the poll is far ahead of past and aspiring top-three competitors.  Pizza baron Herman Cain, Rep. Michele Bachmann and Rick Santorum all earned a modest 6 percent of the vote, Texas Gov. Rick Perry earned a mere 5 percent, and just 3 percent of respondents selected Jon Huntsman.  The ARG poll also notes that among likely caucus goers who are already enrolled in the Republican Party, Paul remains a strong third place with 14 percent of the vote, with Gingrich and Romney at 30 and 17 percent, respectively.
 
Also in Iowa, voter self-identification with the Tea Party, or lack thereof, both help Paul remain in the top three or better: Among likely Republican caucus-goers saying they are supporters of the Tea Party, Paul polls in second place with 19 percent.  Among likely caucus-goers saying they are not supporters of the Tea Party or that they are undecided about the Tea Party, Paul polls third with 12 percent.  The poll of 600 likely Republican caucus-goers was conducted over November 17th to the 23rd and has a margin of error of +/- 4 percent.
 
In New Hampshire, Congressman Paul is holding strong in third place, within the margin of error of +/- 3.8 percent for second place in this survey of 665 randomly selected adults.  Among likely New Hampshire Republican Primary voters, Paul polls at 12 percent behind Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich who earned 42 and 15 percent, respectively.  As in the Iowa poll, the WMUR/UNH poll shows that other Republican presidential hopefuls failing to place in the top three have modest single-digit results.
 
“These poll results demonstrate that Ron Paul’s support in Iowa and New Hampshire is loyal, solid, and diverse, not subject to the media and pundit-fueled ‘flavor of the week’ whims.  As the finish line approaches, we’re hopeful for a strong showing that reflects this strong base of support and its steadily growing numbers,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.

Bachmann Announces Statewide Tea Party Co-Chairs – Building Grassroots Tea Party Support

Columbia, S.C. – The Bachmann for President campaign continues to build on its grassroots Tea Party support in South Carolina, announcing co-chairs Javan Browder and Kelly Payne as well as 35 coalition members.

Browder is an upstate Tea Party champion who has been involved with the movement since its inception, and served as National Co-Director of the Draft DeMint movement. Payne is a midlands pubic schoolteacher, former candidate for Superintendent of Education and Richland County GOP activist.

“Michele Bachmann is the only candidate who has been both conservative and consistent. Unlike Newt Gingrich and some of the other candidates, Congresswoman Bachmann hasn’t played the Washington-insider games to pad her own pocket. She has fought tooth and nail for our constitutional principles, even founding the Congressional Tea Party Caucus to give us a true voice in Congress. I simply trust her.” Browder said.

“We are so excited to have this group of patriots joining our team. They’re hard work to promote freedom is exactly what we need to keep the career politicians in line. “It’s ludicrous to think that the Tea Party would line up behind Newt Gingrich, a true ‘Washington insider’,” Kelly Payne said. “This is a man who pushed TARP, sided with Nancy Pelosi on man-made climate change and even pocketed $37 Million for pushing government mandated health care. It’s pretty obvious why he has to throw around some of that cash to pick up Tea Party support.”

Jon Huntsman Campaign Releases Financial Reform Plan

Manchester- Ahead of tonight's New Hampshire town hall, where Governor Huntsman will discuss his financial reform priorities, Jon Huntsman for President released a bold financial reform plan. His package protects taxpayers from future bailouts by fixing "Too Big To Fail," eliminates burdensome financial regulations that are hindering job creators, and increases marketplace transparency.

A Huntsman administration's top financial reform priorities would include: ending "Too Big To Fail," maximizing derivatives transparency, repealing Dodd-Frank, ending Wall Street's reliance on excessive short-term leverage, fixing BaseI, ensuring a stable monetary policy, and shutting down Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

"Capitalism without failure is not capitalism. In order to ensure no future bailouts, we must end 'Too Big to Fail,'" Huntsman said. "While my opponents pay lip service to ending bailouts, none have offered a plan that would fix the structural problems facing our financial system. Returning to the status quo alone is only a recipe for more abuse and bailouts."

Governor Huntsman continued: "Real financial reform requires breaking the cozy relationship between Wall Street and Washington that helped fuel the housing bubble, drove a series of bailouts, and prevented meaningful reform in the aftermath of the financial crisis. This cannot mean that the government plays a larger role in allocating credit. We need the market to work efficiently without the kinds of subsidies that encourage a build-up in dangerous amounts of borrowing and leverage anywhere in the economy.

"Americans have rightly lost trust in their institutions of power from Washington to Wall Street. We need real reform that ends crony capitalism, ends bailouts, and lets entrepreneurs get back to creating the jobs this country so desperately needs."
