Rick Santorum Announces Additional New Hampshire Endorsements

SENATOR SANTORUM ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL NEW HAMPSHIRE ENDORSEMENTS

Verona, PA - Former Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) announced the additions of several New Hampshire conservative leaders to his campaign team today: Carroll County Sheriff Christopher Conley, State Representative Jeanine Notter, State Representative Wes Shuler, and former Londonderry Town Councilor Paul DiMarco.

Carroll County Sheriff Christopher Conley, a 23 year veteran of the New Hampshire State Police, currently serves as secretary of the New Hampshire Sheriff Association and is the two-term sheriff of Carroll County. Conley is a former Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army and is a veteran of the War in Afghanistan.

State Representative Jeanine Notter of Merrimack, NH was elected to serve in the New Hampshire State Legislature for the 2011-2012 legislative session. Notter is the current President of the Nashua Area Federated Republican Women and was a talk radio host on WSMN 1590 in Nashua prior to her election to office.

State Representative Wes (Wyman) Shuler of East Kingston, NH is a decorated Vietnam War veteran, having earned the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Bronze Star. A graduate of The Citadel in Charleston, SC, Shuler was actively involved in conventional and counterinsurgency operations in Vietnam with the 1 st Marine Division. Shuler is currently serving in the New Hampshire General Court as a State Representative for Rockingham County.

Paul DiMarco is a former Town Councilor for Londonderry, NH. DiMarco is an active member of the Londonderry community, serving as a member of the Londonderry ALERT Team and the Pelham Fish and Game Club.

DES MOINES –Republican Party of Iowa Chairman Matt Strawn today announced the Party’s annual Ronald Reagan Dinner will be held on Friday, November 4 at Hy-Vee Hall in downtown Des Moines, Iowa.
 
The Iowa GOP Reagan Dinner, the largest annual fundraiser for the Iowa GOP, will feature speeches by Republican presidential candidates. Chairman Strawn indicated the invited candidates include: U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich, former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, U.S. Rep. Thaddeus McCotter, U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, Texas Gov. Rick Perry, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, and former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum.


“I encourage all Iowans to attend and learn about our candidates’ principled solutions for addressing the challenges facing our Nation,” said Strawn. “Not only does this event greatly boost Republican organizing efforts in Iowa, but it will provide a tremendous opportunity for our presidential candidates to address and meet thousands of Iowa’s most influential Republican activists.”

The 2011 Reagan Dinner will take place the evening of Friday, November 4 at Hy-Vee Hall in Des Moines. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m., while the program and dinner are scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.  Tickets for the 2011 Reagan Dinner are $75 each for general seating, $150 each for Premium Reserved Seating, $1,000 for a table of ten, or $1,500 for a table of ten in the Premium, VIP section. Strawn also announced the Iowa GOP will offer Iowans the opportunity to earn tickets to the 2011 Reagan Dinner free of charge through volunteer activities in support of the Republican nominee in Iowa Senate District 18. The recent vacancy in the Linn County-based district gives Iowa Republicans an opportunity to end one-party, Democratic control of the Iowa Senate. Gov. Mitt Romney announced he had gained the support of nine state representatives last week.

“Gov. Perry has the strongest record of any candidate in the race of creating an environment ripe for job growth. While Obama has raised taxes and uncertainty, Gov. Perry has balanced budgets, signed aggressive tort reform, and worked to keep job-killing burdens off of employers,” said Rep. Dick Hinch (R-Merrimack), a former supporter of Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty.  “Granite Staters know the country is on the wrong track. We need a candidate whose record can contrast clearly with the president’s, and Gov. Perry's record of leadership can put America on the right track and Americans back to work.”

These endorsements follow previous announcements of support for Gov. Perry by former U.S. Senator Gordon Humphrey; former U.S. Congressman Chuck Douglas; and 2010 GOP Gubernatorial nominee John Stephen.

Background On Senator Norm Coleman:

Senator Coleman Served In The Senate From 2003 To 2009. He was a member of the Foreign Relations Committee, Chairman of the Western Hemisphere Subcommittee, and Ranking Member of the Near East Subcommittee. As Chairman of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, Senator Coleman led a major investigation of the United Nations Oil for Food scandal. Senator Coleman was the Mayor of St. Paul from 1993 to 1998. Prior to his election, Senator Coleman served as a Chief Prosecutor in the Minnesota Attorney General’s office and as the Minnesota Solicitor General. Currently, Coleman is the Chairman of the American Action Network, a Senior Governmental Advisor at Hogan Lovells, and a member of the Board of the Republican Jewish Coalition.

Garden State’s top conservative goes all in for Dr. Paul

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul will receive the endorsement of New Jersey State Senator Michael J. Doherty (R-23) on Monday, September 26th at a noon press conference on the steps of the New Jersey State House, located in Trenton.

Sen. Doherty is serving his first term in the New Jersey Senate, after serving four terms in the New Jersey General Assembly.  By most measures, he is the most conservative legislator in New Jersey.  Sen. Doherty’s record has earned him repeated endorsements and top ratings from pro-business groups, industry associations, Second Amendment rights organizations and prolife advocacy groups.
 
Sen. Doherty graduated with a B.S. from the United States Military Academy at West Point and earned his J.D. at Seton Hall University School of Law.  Achieving the rank of Captain in the Army, he has extensive military experience including living and working in Germany where his top secret contributions helped deter possible Soviet aggression during the Cold War.  Sen. Doherty has three active-duty sons serving in the military.

AUSTIN – Texas Gov. Rick Perry today announced his leadership team for Presidency 5 (P5), with Speaker Dean Cannon serving as chairman. Gov. Perry will participate in Florida P5 this week, including the P5 debate, CPAC and straw poll in Orlando, Fla.

“Florida is critical to the presidential nomination process, so I look forward to bringing my pro-jobs, conservative message to Florida and the Presidency 5 events,” Gov. Perry said. “Floridians care about jobs, fiscal responsibility and ending Obamacare and other federal excesses. I am pleased to have the opportunity to share my record and vision for job creation and fiscal conservatism with the voters of the Sunshine State.”

“Gov. Perry knows that the path to the nomination and eventually the White House goes through Florida,” said Speaker Cannon. “He also knows how critical it is for Florida’s grassroots leaders to get a chance to know the candidates early, which is why he is focused on this state and participating in Presidency 5.”

In addition to Speaker Cannon, conservative activists John Stemberger and Pam Olsen will serve as co-chairs. Stemberger is president of the Florida Family Policy Council. Olsen is the founder and president of the Florida Prayer Network. Also serving as co-chairs are Pasco County Republican Bill Bunting, a leader in the effort to protect the second amendment, and Orange County Republican Activist Lew Oliver. Dr. A.K. Desai, CEO of Universal Health Care Group, Inc., will also serve as a co-chair and help recruit delegates.

Gov. Perry has also announced the following elected officials to serve as co-chairs: Senator Don Gaetz (R-Crestview), State Rep. Rachel Burgin (R-Riverview), State Rep. Clay Ingram (R-Pensacola), Broward County Commissioner Chip Lamarca, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Esteban Bovo and Orange County Property Appraiser Bill Donegan.

P5 will take place at the Orange County Convention Center, beginning Thursday, Sept. 22 and ending Saturday, Sept. 24. It will conclude with the Florida Straw Poll, featuring the participation of more than 3,000 Florida Republican delegates.

The presidency events in Florida have a history dating back to 1979, when Reagan won the straw poll.
