Michele Bachmann who is also a U.S. Presidential candidate.  The free event is an all-out old-fashioned fun evening to be held 5-7 p.m. at the Fort Des Moines Museum and Education Center, 75 Army Post Road, Des Moines.  Summer casual and family fun is on the agenda.

This idyllic setting is known nationally for its origins as the training center after the turn of the century for commissioning the first Black officers and later, the Women's Army Corps.  The site is also the training site for U.S. President Ronald Reagan who received his commission in the Calvary in 1937.

Fort Dodge, IA - Former Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) announced today that he has received the endorsement of former South Carolina Lt. Governor Candidate, TEA Party leader, and Bronze Star recipient Bill Connor.

Bill Connor, former GOP runoff candidate for SC Lt. Governor, will serve as one of the leaders for the Rick Santorum for President campaign's South Carolina National Security team.  As a Lt. Colonel, Bill was the former senior US advisor to the volatile Helmand Province, Afghanistan where he received the Bronze Star and Combat Infantryman's Badge.  Bill is an attorney and partner of a law firm in his hometown of Orangeburg SC, where he lives with his wife of 20 years and their three children.  Bill also serves as board chairman for Orangeburg Christian Academy and published the book "Articles From War" about his experiences in Afghanistan.  He donates all his proceeds from the book sales to low-tuition Christian schooling in SC as his part of helping the parental choice movement.  As a former TEA Party candidate during his Lt. Governor campaign and as one of the leaders of the South Carolina TEA Party movement, Bill will also serve as an outreach coordinator for the campaign to the numerous TEA Party organizations in the state.

Des Moines, IA - Former Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) will be joined by Strong America Now Deputy Director and war hero Captain Scott O'Grady on the steps of the Iowa state capitol building this Wednesday, July 27th to sign the Strong America Now Presidential Pledge to tackle the debt and deficit by applying a waste-elimination process known as Lean Six Sigma to the federal government.

"I commend Mike George, Scott O'Grady, and Strong America Now for bringing needed light to the pressing issue of government debt and efficiently spending taxpayer dollars," said Senator Santorum.  "As a member of Congress I worked tirelessly to eliminate waste and abuses of taxpayer dollars, but it is time we implement the tried-and-true Lean Six Sigma method to ensure our entire government is lean and efficient.  As President, I look forward to working to doing just that."

July 26, 2011, Santa Fe, New Mexico – Presidential Candidate Gary Johnson will visit Iowa this Saturday, July 30th for the conclusion of RAGBRAI and to participate in the Bix 7.

Last year Governor Johnson completed the entire Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) – an annual seven-day bicycle ride across the state. Although scheduling demands made it impossible for him to ride this year, Governor Johnson is returning for the Bix 7 – a challenging 7 mile run know for its hills and large crowds.

Following the race Governor Johnson will be available to the media in Davenport from 11:30am-2:30pm.
