HENDERSON, Nevada – The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign announced today a new nationwide coalition, the “Hospitality Workers for Ron Paul.”  Featuring inaugural members in Nevada, this coalition will prove indispensable in reaching out to tips-earning service sector workers.

The following additions are from Clark County and have pledged to spread the word about Dr. Paul in and among their respective workplaces, peers, and communities.
 
A professional cosmetologist by trade, Las Vegas resident Violet St. Clair describes her support of Ron Paul from the standpoint of someone raising a family, stating, “A large portion of my income is earned in tips, which can be an unpredictable income source.  As a mother of two young children, it is vital that I am able to keep as much of the money I earn as possible.  Eliminating taxes on tips would not only allow a better quality of life for my family, but everybody working in the service industry.  This is one of the reasons why I’m voting Ron Paul.”
 
A longtime member of the Las Vegas service industry, bartender Aldo Vazquez also offered praise for the 12-term Congressman from Texas.
 
“Ron Paul is a politician for the people, and that is one of the main reasons I support him for President.  As a member of the service industry for the past 12 years, Dr. Paul’s ‘tax-free tips’ initiative is something I fully stand behind.  He is a man who cares about the citizens of this country and our quality of life.  Dr. Paul is the one person who keeps me hopeful for the future of our country,” said Mr. Vazquez.
 
Also residing in Las Vegas, Ryan Smith is an employee of Joe’s Crab Shack.  Also a supporter of Dr. Paul’s tax-free tips legislation, Mr. Smith succinctly stated, “I support Ron Paul for President because when you boil down everything that he is saying, the crux of his message is, ‘I think you should run your life, not me.’  Ron Paul wants to empower us, the others just want power.”
 
These new members are everyday hospitality or service sector workers in their community who are representative of the support Dr. Paul enjoys from this large Nevada voting bloc.  They understand and are attracted to Ron Paul’s stance on ending taxation of tips, and for this reason this coalition will serve to amplify Nevada state operations.

Rep. Robideaux and Davis to serve as state co-chairs of the Ron Paul 2012 campaign in Louisiana

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul was endorsed today by Louisiana State Representative Joel Robideaux (R-Lafayette) and former Deputy Chairman of the Louisiana State GOP Charlie Davis.
 
Rep. Robideaux and Mr. Davis will serve as Louisiana co-chairs for the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign.  In making his endorsement and assuming campaign co-chair responsibility for Louisiana, Rep. Robideaux offered the following statement:
 
“Ron Paul is the only Republican running for President who has the credibility to actually follow through on his commitment to stop the runaway train of federal bureaucracy and spending.
 
“None of the other Republican candidates have offered a plan to make any meaningful cuts in federal spending.  In fact, the other candidates only seem interested in wearing the conductor’s hat and tooting the horn a few times as the train goes over the cliff.
 
“Only Dr. Paul has actually offered a plan to cut spending in real terms rather than just trimming the planned increases.  Dr. Paul has proven he has no interest in wearing the conductor’s hat or tooting the horn.  He is only interested in pulling hard on the brake to keep the train from going over the cliff and taking all of us down with it.
 
“As a CPA, and Chairman of the Ways & Means Committee with responsibility for taxation and revenue, Dr. Paul is the only candidate I trust to deal with this immense problem and restore fiscal sanity to America’s budget process.  Only Dr. Paul has consistently proven his commitment to limited government and less spending over the last 35 years.”
 
A former Deputy Chairman of the Republican Party of Louisiana, Charlie Davis has held many positions in the Party since 1995, and was recently elected unopposed to a new term on the Republican State Central Committee.  A chief organizer of the “Pro-Life, Pro-Family” delegate slate that won the majority of the state’s 2008 Republican delegates, he also served as a delegate to the 2004 Republican National Convention and was a member of the 2008 Electoral College.
 
Mr. Davis also currently serves on the board of the Louisiana Family Forum and is married to Ellen Wray Davis with one son and two daughters.  Mrs. Davis is former Political Director of GOPAC, former Executive Director of the Republican Party of Louisiana, and 2008 Republican National Convention delegate.
 
“Ron Paul best addresses the core problems that face America—the bloated federal bureaucracy, an ever-growing national debt, and a systemic loss of personal liberties that are threatening the very foundation of our Republic,” said Mr. Davis in his endorsement as he joined Rep. Robideaux for the Louisiana campaign co-chairmanship.

Energetic ‘Big Dog’ ad featuring ‘Plan to Restore America’ provisions to air in key early voting states

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign will begin running its celebrated television ad ‘Big Dog’ in the key early voting states of Nevada and Minnesota. 
 
The ad buy is substantial in size, and it is part of the campaign’s delegate strategy to secure the Republican nomination for the presidency.  The campaign will air the ads on broadcast and cable television in both states.
 
This is the fourth time the campaign has purchased ads in Nevada, and the first time it has done so in Minnesota.  With respect to Nevada, the campaign announced ad buys for ‘Secure,’ ‘Life,’ and the combined ‘Plan’ and ‘Consistent’ buy on October 7th, 14th, and 20th, respectively.
 
The 30-second spot ‘Big Dog’ contrasts establishment Republican candidates unwilling to make difficult choices on spending cuts and debt reduction with the sole candidate whose bite on such matters equals his bark: Ron Paul.  The ad informs viewers about major provisions of Ron Paul’s “Plan to Restore America” including his proposals to cut $1 trillion from the federal budget in year one, balance the federal budget in year three, and eliminate the Departments of Commerce, Education, Energy, Housing and Urban Development, and Interior.
 
“Running ads in the key early voting states of Nevada and Minnesota is part of our delegate strategy to secure the Republican nomination.  Both states present opportunities for a strong top-three showing in their upcoming caucuses,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton, referring to the February 4th nominating contest in Nevada and the February 7th one in Minnesota.
 
“Ours is the only campaign with the resources, organization, and stamina to defeat establishment candidate Mitt Romney in a 50-state race,” said Mr. Benton.

Five whistle stops plus a nighttime Columbia rally in run-up to Palmetto State’s January 21st primary

COLUMBIA, SC – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul will conduct a major whistle-stop tour in this key early voting state to energize voters in the run-up to the Saturday, January 21st primary election.
 
The 12-term Congressman from Texas will make five stops beginning at 11:15 a.m. EST.
 
In addition to the whistle-stop tour the same day, Dr. Paul will hold a nighttime campaign rally in Columbia.  All whistle stop events are in an airport hangar with the exception of the Aiken one, which will take place at Bobby’s BBQ, and the nighttime rally in Columbia, which will take place at Jillian’s.

HENDERSON, Nevada – The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign announced today new members of its active “Veterans for Ron Paul” nationwide coalition.  Today’s additions hail from Clark and Elko counties, both Nevada.
 
This announcement is especially notable as the Nevada team welcomes veterans from World War II as well as from the Vietnam and Iraq conflicts, thus spanning three generations of heroism.
 
Serving three years as a Private First Class in the European Theater of WWII, William Leong was deployed to Germany as part of the 69th Infantry Division.  Mr. Leong offered praise for the 12-term Congressman from Texas, while speaking as someone who helped deliver Europe from the grip of fascism.
 
“I am both a senior and a veteran of WWII.  Ron Paul has my support because of his view that America should never fight a war unless our security is truly threatened and Congress has declared war as required by the Constitution.  Wars take a heavy toll on our treasure and blood.  They are the chief 800-pound gorilla that is the root of our fiscal problems,” stated Mr. Leong, a Las Vegas resident.
 
John Everhart of Elko served two tours of combat as a helicopter pilot in the Vietnam conflict from 1968 to 1971.  During this time, tragically, the young Mr. Everhart lost two roommates and two copilots.  Between the tours, he was charged with burial detail duties at Ft. Knox and conducted 23 military funerals.  Speaking as someone who understands the cost of war firsthand, Mr. Everhart explained his support for Dr. Paul.
 
“From my experience, I know how war impacts the country where it is fought, and the soldiers and families of those who are wounded or killed.  I support Ron Paul because I know that as Commander-in-Chief, and as a military veteran, he will never take our country to war unless it is absolutely necessary,” said Mr. Everhart.
 
Having served in Iraq and Peru over the course of seven years of service, Leandro Gonzalez attained the rank of Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps.  Speaking from the position of someone who has risked his life at the forefront of current foreign policy, Mr. Gonzalez described why he supports Ron Paul.
 
“As a Marine Corps veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, I see Dr. Paul as the only logical choice for President.  I took an oath to defend the Constitution, as does every President and member of Congress.  I feel that Dr. Paul is the only one who takes his oath seriously.  He would not send our military to needlessly fight and die for special interests, but rather only to fight in a declared war with a clear mission,” said Mr. Gonzalez.
 
Ron Paul is the only top-tier candidate this election possessing an honorable record of military service.  A flight surgeon during the Cold War era, his commitment to veterans was recently showcased in the campaign’s television ad ‘He Served.’  The campaign’s more recent television ad titled ‘Secure’ highlights Dr. Paul’s plan to keep America safe.

HENDERSON, Nevada – The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign announced today new members of its active “Hispanics for Ron Paul” nationwide coalition.  Today’s additions hail from Clark County, Nevada and pledge to spread the word about Dr. Paul among their respective communities.
 
Las Vegas student Michael Pfurr, whose family is from Argentina, was never involved in politics until this election, but always identified as a Republican.  This time, however, he spends his time as a volunteer intern at the Henderson campaign office when not working or studying.

“Ron Paul is the only candidate running who stands for ‘We the People,’ and the only one who will bring about the desperately needed transformation of the Executive Branch and federal government.  He understands political and economic dividends will come only from peaceful negotiations rather than a show of force,” said Mr. Pfurr, explaining why he decided to get involved.
 
He continued, “I believe, through the channeling of his inflexible will, Ron Paul will bring about the recovery of our weakened federalism.  Ultimately, I believe in Ron Paul and in liberty; both have been and ultimately will be victorious.”
 
Also a Vegas-area student, Mando Najera says he was “Never interested in politics until Ron Paul,” adding, “I support Ron Paul because I love his foreign policy, efforts to audit the Federal Reserve, and he is the only candidate who defies the status quo and actually cares about us.”
 
Former Democrat Lillian Babcock is a teacher residing in Las Vegas, and offered praise for the 12-term Congressman from Texas.
 
“Ron Paul is the only candidate who recognizes and gives viable solutions to ongoing problems Americans are facing.  He stands for rights that allow us to be truly free from a meddling government that looks to constantly restrict our constitutional rights.  Not one candidate is willing to say it like it is, except Ron Paul,” said Ms. Babcock.
 
Similar to those first joining the coalition during its launch in November, the new members being announced today are leaders in their community who are representative of the support Dr. Paul enjoys from America’s fastest-growing population and voter segment.

HENDERSON, Nevada – The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign announced today new members of its active “Latter-day Saints for Ron Paul” nationwide coalition.  Voices of support for Dr. Paul echo from the northwest corner of the state, down to Last Vegas.
 
Focusing on this large western states voting bloc, the continued use of coalitions will build operational capacity in a manner that proved pivotal to the 12-term Congressman from Texas’s top-tier finishes in Iowa and New Hampshire.
 
Voters of an LDS background respond that they desire to maintain the sanctity of their personal liberties, uphold the foundational purpose of the Constitution, and want to see Washington exercise time-tested values such as honesty and thrift.
 
Ralph Daveline of Clark County is confident Ron Paul has the right vision for America. “I believe in Ron Paul’s plan to restore America.  He is the only candidate with a plan to cut spending and truly balance the budget.”
 
Joining his neighbor, Michael Cox of Las Vegas  endorses Dr. Paul as his choice for President this election cycle.  Mr. Cox believes in Ron Paul’s ability to defend our God given rights established in the constitution and implement the proper reforms for America.
 
“Congressman Ron Paul is the only candidate for President whose record matches his rhetoric.  As the only GOP candidate for President on the ballot in all 50 states he has always been pro-life both in his words and his actions as Congressman.  He is also the only candidate that follows the enumerated powers of our Divinely-inspired Constitution.  Hyrum Smith once said, ‘To vote for a wicked man, it would be sin.’  A wicked man would ignore what God has inspired,” Mr. Cox stated.
 
Cody Wilcox’s support for Dr. Paul is unwavering as he assesses the credibility of candidates running for the Republican nomination.  “As an LDS member I'm drawn to Dr. Paul's model of accountability and honesty.  I can't imagine Dr. Paul acting outside the best interest of the American people and that cannot be said about other politicians.  This country was founded upon a masterpiece, the Constitution, which encompasses our most important values.  In the face of adversity Dr. Paul will stand strong for the values of the Constitution,” Mr. Wilcox said.
 
Another LDS member Nicolas Riley from Reno keeps his wife and three children in mind as he chooses to support Congressman Paul for the upcoming caucus.  Mr. Riley explains with the following.
 
“I support Dr Paul because he is the champion of the Constitution and will fight to protect our personal liberties.  Remember that the freedom of religion is also the freedom to practice your religion as long as it doesn't interfere with the rights of others.  Also, I believe in the morality to live within my means and expect my government to do so through a balanced budget.  Lastly, Dr. Paul has a history as an obstetrician.  He understands how to assess problems, prioritize urgency, treat the problem, and educate others appropriately,” Mr. Riley stated confidently.

COLUMBIA, SC – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul will participate in PersonhoodUSA’s inaugural LIVE Presidential ProLife Forum taking place later today, as planned.
 
The 12-term Congressman from Texas will be in Washington for a House vote on a measure to voice their displeasure at and deny President Obama a $1.2 trillion increase in the federal debt limit.  The presidential prolife forum takes place in Greenville, South Carolina.  Consequently, Dr. Paul will participate in the presidential prolife forum via satellite.
 
"Dr. Paul feels he must make sure to once again vote against Obama's debt limit increase, but this forum and the prolife cause are very dear to him.  Therefore, he has made arrangements to participate via satellite feed," said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.
 
“With years of experience as a physician Dr. Paul supports the sanctity of life as a basis for liberty and civility, and as the number-one proponent of constitutionally-limited government he supports curtailing federal spending.  He can and will represent both interests, and he will do so well,” said Mr. Benton.
 
Ron Paul is by trade an OB/GYN who personally delivered more than 4,000 babies.
 
In late December, Dr. Paul signed the PersonhoodUSA Republican Presidential Candidate Pledge and an addendum clarifying is prolife stance in the context of the Constitution.  The Ron Paul campaign also released two path-breaking television ads on concerning the sanctity of life: ‘Life’ and ‘Staying on the Right Path.’

HENDERSON, Nevada – The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign announced today additions to its active “Gun Owners for Ron Paul” nationwide coalition.
 
The new members hail from Clark and Elko counties, both Nevada, and in particular reside in Las Vegas and Spring Creek.  All have pledged to spread the word among their respective communities about Dr. Paul’s staunch defense of the fundamental right to bear arms.
 
“He is the only candidate ever who uses common sense.  He truly understands the economy and why our country is struggling.  His consistent and logical obedience to the Constitution provides the ultimate guide needed to be a respected President of the United States,” said Christian Calonge, a proud Las Vegas gun owner.
 
Also of Las Vegas, Robert Shell has a “couple of very good reasons” for supporting Dr. Paul.  “He’s not a proven habitual liar who only cares about money and power as so many of our politicians are.  He believes in freedom and personal responsibility, limited government and he is the only person to stand up for truth, justice, and freedom guaranteed by our Bill of Rights,” said Mr. Shell.
 
Avid sportsman John Hobbs of Spring Creek offered his take saying, “I support Ron Paul as a gun owner for the very words that echo from one of our most prominent founders, Patrick Henry.  Dr. Paul has the wisdom of the founders and has proven for over 20 years he understands the right to protect yourself, your liberties, and your property from those wishing to tread on them; be they rogue individuals or agents of a government, foreign or domestic.”
 
“Gun ownership is far more complex than simply heritage or hunting, gun ownership is the teeth of freedom,” concluded Mr. Hobbs.
 
John Hobbs’ wife Jennifer also described her reasons for backing Paul: “I am supporting Ron Paul because he is for a limited government and supports the Second Amendment to the Constitution.  I am voting for Ron Paul because he is the only candidate that stands firm and will uphold our rights at all costs.”
