Branstad-Reynolds to hold Republican Victory 2014 office grand opening Saturday

(URBANDALE) – The Branstad-Reynolds campaign today announced the Republican Victory 2014 office grand opening will be Saturday, September 28, 2013, at 5 p.m.

Gov. Terry Branstad, Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds, Congressman Tom Latham, Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey and Iowa State Auditor Mary Mosiman are scheduled to be on hand for the event. Light refreshments will be served.

Senator Chuck Schumer to Keynote 2013 Iowa Democratic Party Jefferson Jackson Dinner

Des Moines, IA – The Iowa Democratic Party announced today that New York Senator Chuck Schumer will be the keynote speaker at the 2013 Jefferson Jackson Dinner.

As we head into an important election year, Senator Schumer will help support our candidates up and down the ticket with the resources necessary to set Iowa on the path to be the leader in moving our country forward. Iowa Democrats and Senator Schumer are working together to change Iowa’s course for the future.”

Senator Schumer is the third-highest ranking Democrat in the United State Senate and has been a strong voice for progressive politics throughout his tenure in Congress. He has become known for his tireless work to reduce crime, increase economic opportunity, and expand access to higher education, affordable health care and housing. Senator Schumer was the chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee from 2005 to 2009, and is currently the chairman of the Senate Democratic Policy Committee in Congress.

The Iowa Democratic Party Jefferson Jackson Dinner remains one of the top political events in the country. Past speakers have included Vice President Biden, President Clinton, then-Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, and Vice President Al Gore.

The Dinner will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the Hy-Vee Hall in Des Moines.
