DNC Chair Wasserman Schultz Announces Marilyn Davis as DNC Director of Community Engagement

Washington, D.C. — Democratic National Committee Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz announced today that Marilyn Davis will be joining the Democratic National Committee as the Director of Community Engagement. Davis, a former Director of Constituency Outreach for the 2012 Democratic National Convention Committee, has been a long-time public servant and political consultant who will bring energy and expertise to the DNC’s Community Engagement effort.

As Director of the DNC’s Community Engagement Department, Marilyn will be tasked with implementing a national progressive outreach strategy to promote the President’s accomplishments and the Democratic party’s ideas and ideals among leaders of various constituencies, including Progressives, African Americans, Hispanics, AAPI, LGBT, Disabled, Veterans, Women, Jewish, Faith and other key constituency groups.

Her experience, energy and dynamism  make her a wonderful addition to our team and I look forward to working with her as we elect a Democrat as the 45th President of the United States.”

Most recently, Davis worked at the Department of Labor as the Deputy Director of the Office of Public Engagement. From 2011 to 2014, she was the President and Chief Executive Officer for Davis & Associates, LLC, a consulting firm that specialized in political organizing, strategic development, fundraising, and community outreach for clients. Prior to that, Davis worked for the Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC) as the Deputy Director for Congressional Affairs and liaison to the United States Senate. And prior to joining PIC, Davis worked for the Obama for America-FL campaign as a political consultant, and the 2012 Democratic National Convention Committee as the Director of Constituency Outreach.
