Rick Santorum Endorses Marco Rubio for U.S. Senate

VERONA, PA - Former Republican presidential candidate and former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) issued the following endorsement in support of Senator Marco Rubio's (R-FL) bid for reelection.
 
Rick Santorum said: "I am proud to endorse my friend Marco Rubio for United States Senate.  Over the past five years, no member of Congress has shown more passion or knowledge on the threats facing the United States.  As a leading member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee he has spoken the blunt, honest truth about the risk radical Islam poses to our way of life at a time when our President has refused to even utter the words.  We need more Marco Rubios in the United States Senate giving voice to a strong American foreign policy."

A victor of 11 Republican presidential primaries and caucuses, Senator Rick Santorum is a two-time candidate for the Republican nomination for President.  Santorum served for two-terms representing Pennsylvania in the United States Senate and two-terms in the United States House of Representatives, where he was the principal author of the landmark 1996 Welfare Reform, the law banning the heinous procedure known as partial-birth abortion, and tough sanctions against both the radical Syrian and Iranian regimes.  From 2001 - 2007, Santorum was elected by his colleagues to serve as Senate Republican Conference Chairman, the third highest leadership position in the United States Senate.  Santorum is currently Chairman of Patriot Voices PAC, which is committed to electing conservatives who are focused on helping hardworking families.
