Manchester - Chelsea Clinton's first campaign trip for Hillary Clinton in 2016 will be to New Hampshire, to talk to voters about how her mother will make a difference for families as president.   She will speak at a series of grassroots events on Tuesday, January 12th in Concord, Manchester, and Portsmouth.

Chelsea Clinton knows her mother, as president, will wake up every day fighting to make a difference for families. Hillary Clinton will work to build an economy that benefits all Americans—not just those at the top. She’ll cut taxes for the middle class and is committed to expanding access to high-quality and affordable early childhood education.

Hillary Clinton released the following statement Wednesday about North Korea’s apparent nuclear test:
 
“I strongly condemn North Korea’s apparent nuclear test. If verified, this is a provocative and dangerous act, and North Korea must have no doubt that we will take whatever steps are necessary to defend ourselves and our treaty allies, South Korea and Japan.   North Korea's goal is to blackmail the world into easing the pressure on its rogue regime. We can't give in to or in any way encourage this kind of bullying.  Instead, we should increase pressure and send Pyongyang an unmistakable message that its nuclear brinksmanship won't succeed.
 
“The United States and our partners, including the UN Security Council, need to immediately impose additional sanctions against NorthKorea.  The Chinese government, which wields influence with the North Koreans, must be more assertive in deterring the North's irresponsible actions, and it should take actions to halt prohibited activities transpiring across its borders or its firms that participate in illicit trade or proliferation will have to face sanctions.  We should also work with our work with our allies to strengthen our missile defenses.
 
“As Secretary I championed the United States’ pivot to the Asia Pacific - including shifting additional military assets to the theater – in part to confront threats like North Korea and to support our allies.  I worked to get not just our allies but also Russia and China on board for the strongest sanctions yet.  
 
“North Korea’s nuclear and missile tests, its human rights record, the cyber hack of Sony this past December -- highlight the continuing threat that North Korea poses.
 
“And threats like this are yet another reminder of what’s at stake in this election.  We cannot afford reckless, imprudent publicity stunts that risk war.  We need a Commander-in-Chief with the experience and judgement to deal with a dangerous North Korea on Day One.”

On January 7 and January 8, Stephanie Schriock, President of EMILY’s List, will campaign on behalf of Hillary Clinton in Iowa. EMILY’s List, the largest resource for women in politics, endorsed Clinton the day she announced her candidacy.
 
Schriock will join supporters and volunteers to talk about Hillary Clinton’s commitment to fighting for equal pay and paid family leave, protecting women’s access to health care and Planned Parenthood from Republican’s attacks. This is Schriock’s second trip to the Hawkeye State on behalf of Hillary Clinton.

MN Senator Al Franken will Kick Off Hillary for New Hampshire Grassroots Events on January 7, 2016

Manchester - Minnesota Senator Al Franken will travel to New Hampshire on Thursday, January 7th to kick off Hillary for New Hampshire grassroots events. Franken will discuss with volunteers and voters how much is at stake in 2016 and how Hillary Clinton will get the job done for American families, helping them get ahead and stay ahead.

Senator Franken will begin the day visiting a retirement community in Concord. From there he will attend a volunteer phone bank meet and greet in Dover, before attending a house party in Durham. Franken will round out the day by attending another phone bank in Hampton.

Hillary for New Hampshire is committed to delivering a grassroots community organizing campaign that connects supporters and builds relationships with Granite Staters through one-on-one meetings, small gatherings, and online engagement. At the events with Senator Franken, volunteers will be asking voters to fill out a “Commit to Vote” card, pledging to vote for Clinton in the first in the nation primary.

Thanks to the support of hundreds of thousands of people across the country, Hillary for America set a new record for the best off-year fundraising of any non-incumbent in history.  At the beginning of this campaign, Hillary Clinton set a goal of $100 million in primary contributions for 2015 and blew past that goal, raising more than $112 million in primary money for the year.  Clinton’s $37 million in primary dollars in the fourth quarter set a new record for the best off-year Q4 for a non-incumbent.  In addition to the money raised for her campaign, Clinton raised more than $18 million for the DNC and State Parties across the country through the Hillary Victory Fund in the fourth quarter.

Clinton raised roughly as much for the primary as President Obama did during 2011 as a sitting president and more than either Clinton or Obama in 2007 despite having one fewer quarter to raise.

"Thanks to the hundreds of thousands of Americans who have joined together and powered this historic campaign, we are now heading into Iowa and New Hampshire with the resources we need to be successful," said Hillary for America Campaign Manager Robby Mook.  "Helping Democratic candidates win up and down the ticket is a top priority for Hillary Clinton which is why she's also proud to be doing her part to ensure Democrats have the resources we need to win."
