On January 9, actress  and screenwriter Lena Dunham will campaign for Hillary Clinton in Iowa City and Des Moines. At events with Iowa caucus goers, Dunham will discuss Hillary Clinton’s record of fighting for women and girls, and her plans to create an economy that works for everyone.

Clinton is committed to standing up to Republicans who try to defund Planned Parenthood and she’ll fight to make sure that every woman’s right to make decisions about her health care is protected. When it comes to achieving equal pay and closing the wage gap, making women safe from sexual violence or making college more affordable, Iowans can count on Clinton to take on the tough fights when she is President.
 
The events in Des Moines and Iowa City are open to the public.

In Second Radio Ad, Clinton Highlights Plan to Raise Incomes for African American Families in SC

In the newest radio ad set to begin airing today on predominantly African American stations in South Carolina, Hillary Clinton highlights how stretched family budgets are today and makes it clear that raising family incomes “is the defining economic challenge of our time.” The ad features Clinton's plan to fight for South Carolinians and address the costs of health care, prescription drugs, college, and child care.

Below is the script of “For You”:

Voiceover: Hillary Clinton spent a lifetime fighting for families, and she won’t stop now.             

Hillary Clinton: Families are stretched in so many different directions and so are your budgets. Out of pocket costs for everything from prescription drugs to child care to college seem to go up a lot faster than wages.

Voiceover: And African American families here in South Carolina often have to stretch even further with wages just not keeping up.

Hillary Clinton: Boosting incomes for hardworking families so they can afford a middle class life is the defining economic challenge of our time.

Voiceover: Hillary’s plan creates good paying jobs, raises the minimum wage, ensures equal pay for women, takes on Republicans to protect Obamacare, and will get the drug companies to lower their prices.

Hillary Clinton will return to the Hawkeye State in the new year to attend organizing events ahead of Iowa’s first in the nation caucus. During the two-day swing, Clinton will discuss her plans to get results for children and families so they can get ahead and stay ahead.
 
On January 4, Clinton will attend events in Davenport, Cedar Rapids and Des Moines. On Tuesday January 5, Clinton will attend events in Osage, Sioux City and Council Bluffs.
 
The events in Davenport, Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Sioux City, Osage and Council Bluffs are open to the public.

Hillary Clinton 2016 TV Ad "Keith"

New Hillary for America Ad Focuses on Clinton Plan to Confront Alzheimer’s Disease               

Today, Hillary for America released a new TV ad, “Keith,” which features Keith Thompson, a New Hampshire librarian who cares for his 84-year-old mother who suffers from Alzheimer’s. The ad shows Keith telling his story in his own words, including the fact that costs for day care are so high that he must take his mother to work with him to provide her care.
 
The announcement comes the day after Clinton proposed a $2 billion annual commitment to prevent, treat and make a cure for Alzheimer’s disease possible by 2025, along with a new initiative to strengthen support for caregivers like Keith.
 
Part of Clinton’s new Alzheimer’s agenda includes supporting caregivers like Keith by fighting for Medicare to cover a comprehensive, care-planning session with a clinician following every new diagnosis of Alzheimer’s or related diseases.
 
The Washington Post called Clinton’s plan “ambitious,” and it drew bipartisan praise: Massachusetts Sen. Ed Markey called it “the kind of clear and aggressive roadmap this nation needs,” while former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said that, on Alzheimer’s, Clinton “is moving in the right direction.” In addition, Alzheimer’s advocate Maria Shriver said she was “thrilled” with Clinton’s plan.
 
The new, 30-second spot is part of the campaign’s ongoing buy in New Hampshire and will run alongside previously released ads.

In New Ad, Clinton Pledges to Keep Economy and Country Safe, Strong and Secure
 
Building on Hillary Clinton's successful debate performance Saturday night, Hillary for America released a new TV ad, “Secured,” which highlights her commitment to “make sure our country is safe and strong.” The ad features Clinton making the case that that we need to strengthen the economy with affordable health care and raising incomes while electing a Commander-In-Chief who will keep us secure at home and leading the world.
 
The ad's theme echoes what Clinton said in the debate Saturday night where she opened the debate saying “The American president has to both keep our families safe and make the economy grow in a way that helps everyone, not just those at the top.”
 
Independent observers have credited Clinton’s debate message as effective. The Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza wrote “The former Secretary of State was the only one on stage Saturday night who looked like she could step into the presidency tomorrow.” Former Ambassador Nicholas Burns wrote that Hillary Clinton “has articulated most effective strategy – among all the candidates in both parties – to counter ISIS.”

On Saturday, December 19, Hillary for Iowa will host 100 debate watch parties for the Democratic Presidential debate where Hillary Clinton will discuss her plans to ensure all families can get ahead and stay ahead. At the parties, Clinton’s supporters and volunteers will gather to watch another winning performance and talk about the grassroots actions they’ll be taking to turn out supporters for February’s caucus.

Hillary for Iowa has been organizing since April and built a volunteer powered organization with supporters in all 1,681 precincts in Iowa. Hillary for Iowa is working hard to earn the support of as many Iowans as possible in the 2016 caucus.
