Hillary Clinton to Host "Corridor of Opportunity" Town Hall in Denmark, South Carolina on Friday, February 12, 2016

On Friday, February 12, Hillary Clinton will be visiting Denmark, SC for a "Corridor of Opportunity" town hall to discuss the disparities facing South Carolinians and communities of color.  Clinton will outline her plans to build on President Obama's agenda. Bamberg County is in the I-95 corridor, which includes the state’s poorest rural school districts.

Hillary Clinton has a long history of fighting for children and criminal justice reform in South Carolina. In the 1970s, Clinton came to South Carolina for the Children's Defense Fund to help investigate the living conditions of teenagers held in adult jails. The Children's Defense Fund led the effort to separate these young people from adult prisons, including children in Bamberg County.

This event is open to the public.

Carly Fiorina and Chris Christie are strong, principled individuals. They ran impressive campaigns and energized a great many people.
 
Christie’s background in law enforcement resonated with voters looking for someone who will vigorously combat radical Islamic terrorism and keep this country safe. And Carly did a terrific job standing up to Hillary Clinton, making the clear case for how a return to the free market principles that built this country can bring back jobs and economic growth for our nation.
 
I congratulate both of them on their hard-fought and well-run campaigns. I’m grateful they ran, and wish them both the very best moving forward.

I ran for president with the message that the government needs to once again work for the people, not the people work for the government. And while running for president I tried to reinforce what I have always believed - that speaking your mind matters, that experience matters, that competence matters and that it will always matter in leading our nation. That message was heard by and stood for by a lot of people, but just not enough and that's ok. I have both won elections that I was supposed to lose and I've lost elections I was supposed to win and what that means is you never know what will happen. That is both the magic and the mystery of politics - you never quite know when which is going to happen, even when you think you do.

And so today, I leave the race without an ounce of regret. I'm so proud of the campaign we ran, the people that ran it with me and all those who gave us their support and confidence along the way. Mary Pat and I thank you for the extraordinary display of loyalty, friendship, understanding and love.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for everything you've done for this campaign. For standing with me, for fighting with me. For your generosity, for your support, and for your faith. Thank you.

This campaign was always about citizenship—taking back our country from a political class that only serves the big, the powerful, the wealthy, and the well connected. Election after election, the same empty promises are made and the same poll-tested stump speeches are given, but nothing changes. I've said throughout this campaign that I will not sit down and be quiet. I'm not going to start now. While I suspend my candidacy today, I will continue to travel this country and fight for those Americans who refuse to settle for the way things are and a status quo that no longer works for them.

Our Republican Party must fight alongside these Americans as well. We must end crony capitalism by fighting the policies that allow it to flourish. We must fix our festering problems by holding our bloated, inept government bureaucracy accountable. Republicans must stand for conservative principles that lift people up and recognize all Americans have the right to fulfill their God-given potential.

To young girls and women across the country, I say: do not let others define you. Do not listen to anyone who says you have to vote a certain way or for a certain candidate because you're a woman. That is not feminism. Feminism doesn't shut down conversations or threaten women. It is not about ideology. It is not a weapon to wield against your political opponent. A feminist is a woman who lives the life she chooses and uses all her God-given gifts. And always remember that a leader is not born, but made. Choose leadership.

As I have said to the many wonderful Americans I have met throughout this campaign, a leader is a servant whose highest calling is to unlock potential in others.

I will continue to serve in order to restore citizen government to this great nation so that together we may fulfill our potential.

Minneapolis, MN -- Hillary Clinton's campaign opened its Minneapolis office today, which will serve as a headquarters for the Hillary for Minnesota campaign. The office will be a hub for organizing activity in the Twin Cities, with organizers, fellows, and volunteers planning and launching voter registration drives, phone banks, and canvasses from it. Tonight, organizers and volunteers will hold a phone bank to share how Hillary has fought for them and encourage Minnesotans to get out and caucus on March 1st.

Bernie Sanders Breaks Fundraising Records After Historic Victory in the New Hampshire Primary.

NEW YORK -- Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign on Wednesday announced a record-breaking fundraising period following his landslide victory in the New Hampshire primary.

“I'm going to hold a fundraiser right here, right now, across America,” Sanders told the crowd gathered at his victory speech in Concord last night. “My request is please go to BernieSanders.com and contribute. Please help us raise the funds we need, whether it's $10 bucks, $20 bucks, or $50 bucks. Help up us raise the money we need to take the fight to Nevada, South Carolina, and the states on Super Tuesday.”

In the 18 hours since the polls closed in the Granite State, his campaign has raised more than $5.2 million, shattering the campaign's previous record for money raised in less than a day. The average donation since Sanders' speech is $34.

With nearly all precincts in New Hampshire reporting, Sanders holds a 22-point advantage over Clinton, one of the largest margins of victory in the history of the first-in-the-nation primary.
