“What we saw tonight was a serious, substantive debate on the issues that matter to New Hampshire - from climate change to national security, gun violence to college affordability. The Democratic presidential candidates made it clear tonight they know how to keep our country safe and build on the economic progress we’ve made over the last seven years, especially when it comes to middle and working class families."

"While Democrats are focused on expanding opportunity for everyone, the Republicans are focused on nothing but doom, gloom, bickering, and taking us backwards to the GOP’s great recession. We’re thrilled to host our three candidates again here in New Hampshire before our First-in-the-Nation Primary because we know that the future President was on that stage tonight.”

CHARLESTON -- DNC Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz issued the following statement on tonight’s Democratic debate in South Carolina:

“What a difference a Democrat makes. We began the week with a reminder from the President that hope and faith in the American people are more powerful than the doom and gloom Republicans are peddling on the campaign trail. Tonight our candidates confirmed they understand what it takes to keep America safe and build on the incredible economic progress we’ve made over the last seven years.

“This was a spirited debate, it was sharp and it showed that there is tremendous energy on the Democratic side. And they showed they have the right priorities -- ones that match the values, hopes and dreams of the American people.

“Over the course of a wide-ranging debate, the candidates covered issues from economic and health policy to national security, gun violence, climate change, criminal justice reform and college affordability.
 
“Compare that to the food fight at the Republican debate last Thursday, where they basically promised they would take us back to where we were seven years ago. Remember that when the last Republican president left office in 2009 the GOP’s great recession was robbing millions of Americans of their jobs, their homes, and their savings. We’ve come a long way.
 
“Tonight our candidates focused on real solutions for expanding opportunity, growing the middle class and ensuring everyone in America has a fair shot.

“Our 45th President was on this stage tonight.”

CHARLESTON, SC - Tonight, O'Malley for President Senior Strategist Bill Hyers released the following statement about Governor O'Malley's winning performance in the fourth Democratic debate:

"Tonight, Governor O’Malley had his strongest debate of the campaign. He offered an inspirational vision for America, making the case for keeping new leadership in the White House to build on President Obama's progress.

"While Senator Sanders and Secretary Clinton sniped at each other, Governor O'Malley made the emotional connection with Democratic viewers. He had a powerful opening statement, praising South Carolina for showing America the way to heal after people came together in the aftermath of the Emanuel AME Church tragedy and took down the divisive hateful symbol of the confederate flag. He showed humor all night dealing with the moderators who tried to make it a two person debate. The Iowa Pork Producers Association (IPPA) Invites Presidential Candidates to Iowa Pork Congress Forum

(CLIVE, Iowa) – The Democratic and Republican presidential candidates are being invited to participate in a forum at the Iowa Pork Congress in Des Moines on Jan. 27.

The Iowa Pork Producers Association has contacted each candidate’s campaign to extend an invitation and business executive and Republican hopeful Carly Fiorina was the first to commit to participating.

Plans call for each candidate to be given 30 minutes to deliver prepared remarks and answer questions from pig farmers and others attending the pork convention. Sessions will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“With all of the candidates from both parties converging on the state in advance of the 2016 Iowa Caucuses, we want to give pig farmers from around Iowa and the Midwest who will be attending the Iowa Pork Congress an opportunity to hear directly from the candidates about their views on agriculture and how they would address the issues directly impacting producers,” said IPPA President David Struthers of Collins.

Many of the presidential hopefuls will likely be in Des Moines during Pork Congress and the forum will be a chance for them to visit the “nation’s largest winter swine tradeshow,” see the latest technology and learn more about the industry.

“Most of the candidates visited the Iowa Pork Tent during the Iowa State Fair to enjoy some fresh Iowa pork and visit with farmers and we’d love to show them how we raise the quality pork they enjoyed,” said Jamie Schmidt of Garner, IPPA past president.

The 44th annual Iowa Pork Congress will be held January 27-28 at the Iowa Events Center. The convention offers the approximately 5,000 attendees 500 tradeshow booths, eleven free business seminars and panel discussions, youth activities and social events.

The Iowa Pork Producers Association is a non-partisan organization that does not endorse political candidates.

DES MOINES, Iowa-Gov. Mike Huckabee will campaign in Iowa Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week.

"While some  pandering policiticians believe life, marriage and moral issues are 'not a priority,' I disagree 110 percent. I will never apologize for my faith, I will never compromise my values, and I will never say one thing for votes and another for campaign contributions," said Gov. Huckabee.

"Iowa matters because Iowa conservatives are not for sale, and our honest, authentic, consistent conservative message is resonating across the state," said Huckabee.

Since the start of January, the Huckabee campaign has held 43 Iowa events. The campaign has 150 planned Iowa events for the final month before the caucuses, including 11 during this swing. The following are the details of his events:

Manchester - Hillary Clinton will return to New Hampshire on Friday, January 22nd to host two town hall meetings and mark the 43rd anniversary of the Roe v. Wade, the historic decision that ensured women's right to make their own health care decisions, with NARAL Pro-Choice New Hampshire.

With Republicans pledging to rollback our economic progress, repeal health care for millions, and stand in the way of measures to ensure women's and LGBT rights, we need a President who will be able to stand her ground. Hillary Clinton has been working to engage New Hampshire voters, answer their questions, and explain exactly how she would fight against Republican attacks while working towards a future with greater opportunity and shared prosperity for all.
