Iowa GOP 2015 Straw Poll Tickets Go On Sale

DES MOINES - Tickets to the 2015 Straw Poll went on sale this morning, three months before the event's August 8th date.

Tickets will cost $30, the same price as the 2011 Straw Poll and $5 cheaper than the 2007 Straw Poll. Anyone who will not be 18 by Election Day 2016 (November 8) will be allowed in for free as a non-voting attendee.

The Iowa GOP is also offering a $5 discount on tickets bought before May 18, bringing the current price down to $25. Early-bird ticket purchases will also come with premium parking.

Rand Paul Applauds Court Decision on NSA Illegality

WASHINGTON, D.C. - A federal appeals court today deemed it illegal for the National Security Agency to collect bulk data without first obtaining a warrant.  In reaction to the decision, Sen. Paul issued the following statement:

"This is a monumental decision for all lovers of liberty. I commend the federal courts for upholding our Constitution and protecting our Fourth Amendment rights. While this is a step in the right direction, it is now up to the Supreme Court to strike down the NSA's illegal spying program.
 
It is the duty of elected officials to protect the rights of all Americans, and Congress should immediately repeal the Patriot Act provisions and pass my Fourth Amendment Preservation and Protection Act. I will continue to fight to prevent the Washington Machine from illegally seizing any American's personal communication," Sen. Paul said.
 
In 2014, Sen. Paul filed a class action lawsuit against the Obama administration for its limitless and opaque collection of Americans' phone records.
