VERONA, PA - Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum (R-PA) issued the following statement following this evening's CBS News Democrat Debate.

 

Rick Santorum said: "Hillary Clinton's continued refusal to level with the American people about the enemy we face, the threat they pose, and sacrifice necessary to defeat them disqualifies her to be Commander-in-Chief. We are not at war with 'violent extremists.'  We are at war with radical Islam, radical Islamists that just yesterday murdered hundreds of innocent French civilians."

 

"As a Senator, Hillary Clinton voted against my legislation that imposed sanctions on the radical Iranian mullahs.  As Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton abandoned the Iranian pro-democracy movement during the Green Revolution, sat home while our embassy burned and our ambassador died in Benghazi, and allied with the Muslim Brotherhood as the Egyptian government crumbled.  And now as a presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton refuses to even identify the threats we face," continued Santorum.

 

"Radical Islamists hate everything we stand for.  They seek to destroy us and our way of life.  ISIS only has power as long as they can establish a caliphate.  Iran seeks a nuclear weapon to bring about the return of the Mahdi. Hillary Clinton fundamentally does not understand the World in which we live, the threats that we face, and the ideology of our enemy.  Hillary Clinton is not qualified to be Leader of the Free World," concluded Santorum.

VERONA, PA - Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum (R-PA) will launch the Security Through Strength Tour in Iowa on Wednesday, November 18th.
 
The three-day campaign swing will focus on the pressing national security threats facing America today.  Santorum will discuss his plans to destroy ISIS' efforts to establish a radical Islamic caliphate, ensure Iran never develops a nuclear weapon, and how to address the Syrian refugee crisis.
 
Senator Santorum has more foreign policy experience than all of his fellow Republican presidential rivals, having served for 8 years on the Senate Armed Services Committee, authoring our current sanctions regimes against both Syria and Iran.  After leaving the Senate, Rick Santorum led a program at the Ethics and Public Policy Center focused on the rise of radical Islam - lecturing internationally on the threat posed by the rise of radical Islam.

Rick Santorum postpones Michigan speech, to resume campaign schedule Tuesday in Chicago

VERONA, PA - Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum (R-PA) has postponed his previously scheduled speech to the Ottawa County, Michigan GOP due to severe laryngitis.  Santorum will resume his normal campaign schedule on Tuesday morning in Chicago.
 
Matt Beynon, Santorum for President 2016 Communications Director, said: "Unfortunately, due to a severe bout with laryngitis, Senator Santorum has been forced to postpone his previously scheduled speech tonight in Michigan.  The Senator greatly regrets his inability to attend tonight's dinner and looks forward to returning to Michigan very soon.  However, in order to speak loudly in support of hardworking American families in Tuesday evening's debate, the campaign decided it was best that the Senator rest his voice on Monday."

VERONA, PA - Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum issued the following statement in response to President Obama's rejection of the Keystone XL Pipeline:
 
Rick Santorum said: "Today's decision by the Obama Administration is another betrayal of the American worker, American manufacturing, and American security.  Workers are struggling and our enemies are on the march.  More than 15,000 manufacturers and 2 million manufacturing jobs have been lost, jobs that require cheap, secure energy sources.  Yet President Obama has decided to again abandon them and our security to appease the fringe environmental Left."  
 
"Under my Administration, we will commit to an all-of-the-above energy policy that will not just bring cheap energy prices to consumers at the pump, but will lower prices upstream for manufacturers and processors that depend on energy to make the products we use every day.  And just as important, we will make our nation energy secure so we will not be held hostage by rouge regimes and radical groups with access to energy resources," concluded Santorum.

VERONA, PA - Republican presidential candidate and winner of the 2012 Iowa Republican Caucus today announced that his campaign has added five additional staff members to his Iowa Campaign Team: Steven Munoz, Patti Brown, Jane Jech, Bob Algard, and Connor Stokes.
 
The five new Iowa staff additions will complement the efforts of Iowa Senior Advisor Cody Brown, State Director Walt Rogers, State Coalitions Director Kim Lehman, and Caucus Coalitions Advisor Karen Fesler.
 
Rick Santorum said: "While most campaign's are slashing salaries and laying-off staff, our campaign continues to grow.  I am excited to announce that our campaign has added five talented and hard-working members to our Iowa Team.  Steven, Patti, Jane, Bob, and Connor will play an important role in our campaign's efforts to repeat as Iowa Caucus victors and I am looking forward to working with them in the weeks to come."
 
Steven Munoz will serve as Operations and Advance Director in Iowa.

In this capacity, Munoz will work directly with Iowa Senior Advisor Cody Brown and Iowa State Director Walt Rogers on Iowa campaign advance and logistics. Munoz first worked to implement Santorum's 2011 Ames Straw Poll strategy and Iowa Caucus Captain Program.  Following the 2011 Iowa Straw Poll, Munoz was promoted to a senior role in Santorum's South Carolina Team and ultimately the National Advance and Travel Teams.   Previously, Munoz served as statewide coordinator for the Gresham Barrett for Governor (R-SC) campaign.  In 2014, Munoz worked with the French government to assist with the operations for American veterans at the ceremonies for the 70th anniversary of D-Day in Normandy, France.
 
Patti Brown will serve as the Santorum Campaign's Field Representative for Polk County.

Brown is one of central Iowa's leading conservative activists, currently serving on the Executive Committee of the Dallas County, Iowa Republican Party.  During the 2012 election, Brown was a member of Santorum's Iowa Statewide Steering Committee.  Brown was also appointed by Governor Terry Branstad (R-IA) to the Iowa Community Action Agency Commission and the 5th Judicial Nominating Committee.  Brown has also served as the Director of the Iowa Policy Institute.
 
Jane Jech will serve as a Field Representative for the Santorum Campaign in Northeast Iowa.

Jech graduated from Iowa State University with a B.A. and lives and has raised her family in Marshalltown, Iowa. Jech is a former candidate for the Iowa State House of Representatives and the Iowa State Senate.
 
Bob Algard will serve as a Field Representative for the Santorum Campaign in Northwest Iowa.

Algard previously worked for Chick-fil-A in a development role as an Operations Director. Algard is a graduate of The Citadel with a degree in Business Administration. He also served as Class President and Battalion Commander. In 2014, Algard worked as a volunteer coordinator on several successful Senatorial and Congressional campaigns in South Carolina and Virginia, including Senator Tim Scott and Governor Nikki Haley's re-election.
 
Connor Stokes will serve as a Field Representative for the Santorum Campaign in Southwest Iowa.

Stokes, a native of the Omaha/Council Bluffs area, recently graduated from The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. Before joining the campaign Connor was a regional development representative and sales manager in downtown St. Louis.

Santorum's previous Iowa office was located in West Des Moines, Iowa.  Santorum's new office location is over 6,000 square feet and formerly housed the campaigns of Governor Terry Branstad (R-IA), general election Iowa headquarters of Governor Mitt Romney (R-MA), and Governor Scott Walker's 2016 Iowa campaign headquarters (R-WI).
 
A formal office opening and volunteer celebration will be announced in the coming weeks.
