YANG QUALIFIES FOR THIRD AND FOURTH DEMOCRATIC DEBATES IN NEW MONMOUTH IOWA POLL
NEW YORK — A Monmouth University Iowa poll released today has secured presidential hopeful Andrew Yang a spot on the fall debate stages.
Yang is polling at 2% in his fourth qualifying poll, which means voters can expect to learn more about Yang's proposed Freedom Dividend and Humanity First campaign at the September debate in Houston and at a mid-October debate.
To qualify for the fall debates, Democratic candidates are also required to secure at least 130,000 individual donors. The Yang2020 campaign now has almost 170,000 individual donors and quickly surpassed this donor requirement following the first Democratic debate in June.
"I said in the last debate that American politics has turned into a reality show, which produced a reality show president. Solutions don't come in 30 second soundbites, and the American people are tired of leadership condensed into 280 characters. The country heard my message and is ready to talk about real solutions to gun violence, the new realities of the American economy, and how we measure our health and success as a nation. I'm excited to have those conversations in Houston and throughout the 2020 election," Yang said.
Yang2020 Campaign Manager Zach Graumann said the candidate and campaign are more than ready for the fall debates.
"After the last debate, it was evident that the American people heard Andrew's message loud and clear. The political establishment never thought we would be in the first debate, let alone the third and fourth. We've added more than 35,000 donors to the Yang Gang after Detroit and raised over $1 million. Andrew is ready for Houston!" Graumann said.
