Julián Castro Returns to Iowa for Events in Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, Storm Lake and Sioux City
Secretary Castro will talk criminal justice reform, meet with advocates
SAN ANTONIO, TX (November 19, 2019) – Presidential candidate, former Obama Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Mayor of San Antonio, Texas, Julián Castro will return to Iowa on Saturday and Sunday with events in Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, Storm Lake and Sioux City.
On Saturday, Secretary Castro will join members of the Iowa Harm Reduction Coalition in Cedar Rapids for a roundtable to discuss issues related to drug policy and criminal justice reform. He will speak at the Black Hawk County Democrats annual Hall of Fame dinner on Saturday evening.
Secretary Castro will meet with voters at a small business in Storm Lake to talk about the campaign on Sunday. He then will tour a community outreach center in Storm Lake to learn about the services they provide to families in need across Buena Vista County.
Later in Sioux City, Secretary Castro will tour the Siouxland Pride Alliance office, where he will meet with advocates and learn about the work they do for the community, and attend a meet-and-greet.
