Julián Castro Returns to Iowa for Town Hall on First in the Nation Caucus
Castro will host meet-and-greets in Wapello, Fort Madison, Ottumwa, Grinnell and Iowa City
SAN ANTONIO, TX (December 4, 2019) – Presidential candidate, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for President Obama and Mayor of San Antonio, Texas, Julián Castro will return to Iowa on Monday for three days of events including a town hall on Iowa’s role as the First in the Nation Caucus.
Laura Belin, editor of Bleeding Heartland, will moderate the Tuesday evening town hall at Drake University. Secretary Castro sparked a national conversation when he called for a Democratic primary process that better represented the diversity of the country and the Democratic primary.
Castro, after being in Waterloo Friday for the Local America Presidential Forum, will return Monday through Wednesday.
On Monday, he will join Louisa County Democrats and community members for a meet-and-greet in Wapello and then meet Lee County Democrats during a stop in Fort Madison.
Secretary Castro will join Wapello County Democrats for a meet-and-greet in Ottumwa on Tuesday before the town hall in Des Moines.
On Wednesday, he will join students and community members for a town hall at Grinnell College and meet-and-greet at the University of Iowa.
More details will be released on other Wednesday events ahead of the trip.
