Andrew Yang Adds Two Senior Campaign Veterans to Run Digital and Direct Mail Operations

Today, Andrew Yang announced the addition of two senior Democratic campaign professionals to spearhead the campaign’s digital and direct mail operations. Julia Rosen, Partner at Fireside Campaigns, will helm the planning and execution of the campaign’s already robust digital strategy. Ally Letsky, Senior Vice President and Strategist at Deliver Strategies and former Hillary for America Direct Mail Director will lead the campaign’s direct mail efforts.

“While other campaigns are scaling back or trying to sustain their current levels, our campaign is rapidly growing and adding experience and know-how to ensure that we peak at the right time. We’re absolutely thrilled that Ally and Julia—two of the most experienced and respected professionals in their fields—are bringing their expertise to the Yang Gang to help us compete and win,” said Andrew Yang.

Letsky has worked in Democratic politics since 2004 and brings a decade of experience in direct mail, campaign messaging, and the modern application of paid media strategy. In this new political environment, Letsky specializes in creating more authentic conversations using direct mail while seamlessly integrating mail with digital, field, and TV ads. In 2012, she was part of the direct mail team that helped President Barack Obama win in some of the toughest battleground states in the Midwest. Letsky led millions of dollars in direct mail testing and the largest direct mail program as the Director of Direct Mail for Hillary for America in 2016. She has produced winning direct mail campaigns for Democrats of all levels, from school board and state legislative races to congressional, gubernatorial, and U.S. senate races.

Rosen’s expertise is in driving integrated digital programs that are reflective of a strong brand identity and narrative, turning warm leads into donors and volunteers. She has been a leader, mentor, and trainer to countless digital organizers engaged in Democratic politics, and she serves on the board of the chapter-based Equality Federation.

November 30th Marks Highest Fundraising Day for Andrew Yang 2020 Campaign

NOV. 30TH MARKS HIGHEST FUNDRAISING DAY OF YANG2020

Today, Andrew Yang announced that on November 30, the campaign had its single largest fundraising haul to date. In 24 hours, the campaign raised nearly $750,000 online from more than 18,000 contributions. The average donation was around $41.

“The chorus of support behind our campaign is growing louder with each passing day. The voices of these more than 300,000 donors to our campaign and the millions of Americans who are hungry for real change will be heard,” said Campaign Chief Nick Ryan. “If the political establishment was shaken when they saw what we accomplished in Q3, they better brace themselves in the coming months because we’re going to continue to shatter expectations and win this race.”

The single-day fundraising record set yesterday by the campaign’s supporters builds on Q3’s growth that outpaced many candidates in the race. From $2.8M in donations in Q2 to over $10M in Q3, the Yang campaign is resonating with voters in a way that other campaigns aren’t.

The fundraising record is especially remarkable given the Thanksgiving holiday weekend when large portions of Americans are spending their money on Black Friday and Cyber Monday consumer goods sales. The Yang Gang, Andrew Yang’s die-hard supporters, continue to show their unwavering and incomparable support for the campaign, providing the resources needed to build out campaign infrastructure and reach new voters with just a couple months until the voting starts.

The constantly growing support for the Yang campaign extends beyond impressive fundraising numbers, however. Following a #PledgeForHumanity initiative launched by Andrew Yang last week to encourage everyone to give back to their communities, people committed nearly 3,000 hours to embracing the campaign’s Humanity First values through volunteerism today, whether it’s helping out at a soup kitchen, cleaning up a neighborhood park, or writing letters to service members.

At a time when other campaigns are cutting back on resources and staff to stay in the race or sustain their current levels, the Yang campaign is expanding its footprint and ability to compete in early voting states with new offices and more staff. Tonight, America saw that the #YangMediaBlackOut is real. During MSNBC and The Washington Post’s debate, Yang was not asked a question until the 32-minute mark. MSNBC gave significantly more time to candidates polling lower than Yang. This follows repeated instances of MSNBC leaving out Yang from polling and fundraising graphics, and even calling him by the wrong name.

“Andrew is consistently a top six candidate and deserves to be treated as such. Honest journalism is not an unreasonable ask from one of our nation’s largest news outlets,” said Campaign Manager Zach Graumann.

Despite being given the least amount of speaking time tonight, Andrew Yang delivered the strongest message and proved why he should be the Democratic nominee.

Americans tuned in tonight hoping to hear how the candidates were going to address the problems they face in their daily lives. Instead, they were forced to watch moderators pit Democratic candidates against each other.

When Yang was finally called upon, he answered with a message of hope and vision for this country. Yang spoke about the need for smart foreign policy that keeps America safe, economically prosperous, and secure in its democracy.

YANG CALLS FOR LEGALIZING ONLINE POKER

Andrew Yang wants to legalize online poker in all 50 states and territories. Yang made the announcement during a trip to Las Vegas today.

Currently, online poker is governed by a patchwork of state-by-state regulations. It is fully legal in only four states: Nevada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. This forces many of the millions of American players to use offshore poker sites, putting them at risk for exploitation. Legalization would provide clarity for vendors, protections for players, and tax revenue.

The potential size of a federally regulated US online poker market is significant, with reports estimating $2.2 billion just in the first year.

“Making online poker legal in all 50 states and territories is a win-win for everyone,” Yang said. “U.S. companies and players would benefit and new tax revenues could be used to mitigate addiction.”

"Americans are getting taken advantage of so much by these unregulated websites. People play them and they have no idea they're getting scammed,” said well-known poker player Joey Ingram. “There is no regulation. There is no policing. There is no security. There's a lot of shady activity happening. People who play don't have many options.”

“He understands that people in the U.S. are going to find a way to play, so it’s just common sense to regulate it and create tax revenue that states aren’t getting now,” poker player Daniel Negreanu tweeted.

Andrew Yang Releases Tech Policy

YANG UNVEILS SWEEPING TECH POLICY, UNDERSCORES DATA AS A PROPERTY RIGHT AND HEALTH IMPACTS OF MODERN TECH

Four-pronged approach focuses on regulating data use and privacy, minimizing health impacts of modern tech (especially on our children), stopping the spread of misinformation, and implementing modern antitrust and regulatory solutions.
The new, comprehensive policy highlights the government’s role and responsibility to support the development of features and protections that would encourage healthy tech use among youth without stifling innovation.

NEW YORK — Presidential candidate Andrew Yang released a revolutionary tech policy that redefines how the United States would ensure the government is equipped to stay ahead of these developments and create appropriate regulations.

While other candidates are calling to break up big tech companies, that doesn’t necessarily fix the underlying problems these companies are creating. No one would use the fourth-best search engine, and network effects will naturally lead to market consolidation in certain areas. And, if anything, the negative impact of social media will only be increased as companies compete for our attention, and the attention of our children.

The policy instead addresses the dire problems faced by Americans, including high levels of anxiety, depression, and stress. Citizens are also subject to the dissemination of false information on social media and invasions of their privacy by these companies.

“As the parent of two young children, I’m deeply concerned about technology and how it affects our kids. We're developing technology rapidly and we need to work together to get ahead when it comes to analyzing how it impacts our everyday lives and creating appropriate regulations,” Andrew Yang said.

Healthy Use of Technology

The U.S. government will support and promote healthy use of technology by working with major tech companies to ensure platforms and products are helping -- not hurting -- young users. One major highlight is Yang’s proposal to create a Department of the Attention Economy, which provide guidelines to companies on how to responsibly design products, such as smartphones, social media, and gaming apps.

Data Use and Privacy

Citizens should be protected and be regarded as the owners of their personal data. Tech companies are not giving Americans their fair share of profits gleaned from the use of their personal information. To ensure Americans are compensated for the use of their data, Andrew will pass a Digital Bill of Rights, ensuring ownership of data, control of how it’s used, and compensation for its use.

Stopping the Spread of Disinformation

As false information continues to pervade our social channels, it will be crucial for the government to play an active role in halting the spread of misinformation. To tackle this problem, Yang will hold companies accountable for allowing bots to spread disinformation, create incentives for businesses to move to a subscription model instead of being ad-based, and require large, clear labeling on ad purchases and on how data is being used to target each individual.

21st Century Framework

Yang will build a 21st century framework to better facilitate a modern approach to regulation. Yang will revive the Office of Technology Assessment, establish a Department of Technology, and establish new antitrust guidelines.

Yang, a former tech executive and non-profit leader who has received recognition and support from big names in tech, including Elon Musk, Alex Ohanian, Sam Altman, and Jack Dorsey, has established that his campaign is the only one addressing our nation’s needs as we experience the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
