visit PLAN, the Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada. PLAN brings “together diverse and potentially competing organizations into one cohesive force for social and environmental justice in Nevada.” He will speak with staff members about the organization’s goals.

The educational roundtable has been cancelled.

MANCHESTER, NH - During tonight’s debate, Deval Patrick’s campaign for president will air a new 30-second ad on CNN. The ad will offer New Hampshire voters an overview of Governor Patrick’s life and professional experience. This ad placement comes on the heels of the campaign’s announcement of its six-figure ad buy last week. The ad will continue to run in New Hampshire after the debate.

“There’s no frontrunner in this race, and our campaign continues to build momentum in New Hampshire as other campaigns have started to wind down,” Campaign Manager Abe Rakov said. “As more voters hear Deval’s story, they are convinced that he’s the candidate with the life and leadership experience to defeat Donald Trump and renew the American Dream for everyone, everywhere.”

Entitled “American Dream” the 30-second spot was shot in Boston and Governor Patrick’s hometown, on the South Side of Chicago. In the ad, Governor Patrick tells the story of his experience living the American dream. “I've led the Civil Rights division in the US Department of Justice, worked to make businesses more fair and socially responsible, and delivered first in the nation results as the only Democrat elected Governor of Massachusetts in 30 years. I'm living my American Dream, and I'm running for president to be sure you get to live yours,” Governor Patrick says in the ad. In closing the ad, he says, “I approve this message because where other candidates have ideas, I have results.”

“Tonight, six candidates will take the debate stage, all remarkable public servants. Yet tonight America will not see herself in full.

“The racial and ethnic diversity of the Democratic field, and our willingness to speak directly to issues of racism, has made me proud to be a Democrat and an American. But the debates have stopped either showcasing the field or representing the Nation. Instead of helping Democrats to choose our most compelling nominee from a range of diverse talent, the debates have become an end in themselves, an episode of reality TV with candidates paying more attention to polling numbers and donations than issues and people.

“The candidates in the debate tonight, many of whom are friends, have each overcome struggles of their own. Each believes this is the most consequential election of a generation. And yet no one on that stage knows what it’s like to fear for their safety when pulled over for a routine traffic stop. No one on that stage has ever been questioned about their citizenship or if they’re a “real” American or been followed by store security when shopping. No one has ever asked themselves whether a rejection for a job or an apartment or a loan was because of their race — though millions of Americans still do. Racism is the most consequential unfinished business of America. An election without those issues addressed by all the candidates is not consequential enough.

“There was always going to be a winnowing down of the field. Sadly, three of the four candidates who have most recently left the race have been candidates of color. It concerns me that not being on the debate stage has contributed to that. Surely the leadership of the Democratic Party must now see that the criteria chosen have not served to demonstrate to Democratic voters or to the Nation the breadth and depth of diverse talent in the field, and must reconsider the criteria for participating in, as well as the format for, future debates.

“The remaining candidates seeking the Democratic nomination for president, and in particular, those who have the privilege of being on the debate stage tonight must keep the issues facing people of color in the forefront as we address the future of our country. Racism, environmental justice, economic opportunity, gun safety, health disparities, and mass incarceration cannot be issues reserved for politically comfortable places. We cannot win in November without voters of color, nor should we. More importantly, America cannot win without fully and fairly addressing the unfinished business of race.”

Deval Patrick will return to South Carolina on January 11-12, 2020

CHARLESTON, SC — On Saturday, January 11, Governor Deval Patrick will return to South Carolina for a two day swing. On Saturday afternoon, Governor Patrick will attend and offer remarks at the James E. Clyburn Political Fellowship BBQ in Charleston.

On Sunday, he will start his day in Florence, where he will attend church services and offer remarks at the New Ebenezer Baptist Church. Later, Governor Patrick will travel to Hartsville, where he will attend services and offer remarks at Jerusalem Baptist Church.

First ad, “Not Too Late,” will air in the first four states, with significant buys in New Hampshire and South Carolina

BOSTON, MA - Today, Deval Patrick’s campaign for president announced a six-figure television and digital ad buy across the four early states -- Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, and South Carolina -- with significant investments in both New Hampshire and South Carolina. The buy comes as the campaign has been growing it’s staff nationwide and building momentum in New Hampshire and South Carolina.

“No other candidate has the life or leadership experience that Deval does,” Campaign Manager Abe Rakov said. “We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to share far and wide why Governor Patrick is the candidate with the record and message to defeat Trump and renew the American Dream.”

Entitled “Not Too Late,” the 30-second spot was shot in Boston and Governor Patrick’s hometown, on the South Side of Chicago. The ad features his wife, Diane, who reflects on her battle with cancer and discusses their decision to get into the race. “Some people say it’s too late for me to run for president. But growing up on the South Side of Chicago, people told me then what I could and couldn’t do. I’ve been an underdog my whole life, and I’ve never let that stop me,” says Governor Patrick in the ad.

The ads will begin airing immediately on television and digital platforms in the first four states. The buy is part of an effort to introduce the vast number of undecided voters in the early states to a candidate with a proven track record of delivering results for his constituents.

CHARLESTON, SC — On Monday, January 6, Governor Deval Patrick will return to South Carolina for the second time since the start of the new year. He will start his trip with a visit to a minority-owned small business, Bowman Vineyards, where he will participate in a discussion about the challenges facing entrepreneurs in South Carolina, especially in rural parts of the state. Later, Governor Patrick will travel to Orangeburg, where he will meet with the Orangeburg County Democrats.

On Tuesday, January 7, Governor Patrick will start his day with a haircut at the Barbershop Grooming Lounge in Columbia. In the afternoon, he will take part in The Post & Courier’s Pints & Politics series at the Palmetto Brewing Co. in Charleston.

Deval Patrick grows New Hampshire campaign, adding new staff and office

MANCHESTER, NH — Deval Patrick’s campaign today announced they are growing their New Hampshire campaign with nine staff hires and a campaign office in Manchester. This announcement comes just before Governor Patrick makes his 10th trip to the state this weekend, and plans to spend more time in New Hampshire than any other candidate before the February 11th primary.

“We are thrilled to be growing our campaign in New Hampshire with a group of talented leaders and organizers who all have strong ties to the region,” said Campaign Manager Abe Rakov. “As other campaigns begin to focus elsewhere, we’re going into January with momentum and a commitment to running a campaign that everyone from each and every corner of the Granite State can make their own.”

In addition to State Director Wyatt Ronan, the leadership team announced today is:

Wyatt Ronan - NH State Director
Wyatt has spent many years in New Hampshire working for Democratic candidates and causes, most recently as the New Hampshire Communications Director for Beto O’Rourke’s presidential campaign, and before that as Communications Director for Chris Pappas, both in his Congressional office and throughout his historic 2018 campaign. Wyatt served as the New Hampshire Democratic Party Communications Director in 2017-2018, as a Regional Press Secretary in Ohio for Hillary Clinton in 2016, and as an organizer for President Obama's re-election campaign in New Hampshire in 2012. Additionally, Ronan worked as NextGen Climate's New Hampshire Press Secretary in 2015 and 2016.

Caroline Kimball-Katz - NH Communications Director
Caroline joins the Patrick campaign after nearly five years working for Boston City Council President Andrea Campbell, most recently as Deputy Chief of Staff. Caroline has organized on local and statewide campaigns in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, including for Andrea Campbell, Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey, Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, and President Obama’s 2012 re-election.

Laura Cantwell - NH Organizing Director
Laura is an experienced organizer, and most recently served as South Carolina Upstate Organizing Director for Beto O’Rourke’s presidential campaign. In 2018, Laura managed field operations for Beto O’Rourke’s Senate campaign in Texas. She is a graduate of Northeastern University in Boston.

Samuel Sands - NH Outreach Director
Sam has been active in New Hampshire politics for the last few years while earning his Masters in Community Development Policy from the University of New Hampshire’s Carsey School of Public Policy. Most recently, Sam served as Director of Special Projects for Beto O’Rourke’s presidential campaign in New Hampshire, and worked on Chris Pappas’s Congressional campaign in 2018, conducting policy research, coordinating Latinx voter engagement efforts, and leading large event operations.

In addition to the New Hampshire leadership team, the campaign has hired five New Hampshire organizers and is opening a campaign office in Manchester this weekend.
