John Delaney to Announce Expansive National Service Program During Three-Day Tour of New Hampshire

MANCHESTER, NH – Presidential candidate John Delaney is making his 17th trip to New Hampshire this weekend. At Concord High School, Delaney will roll out his plan to create a new national service program enrolling more than 200,000 high school students in its first year. Delaney will be joined on stage by advocates for service programs, environmental activists, and state legislators in support of national service and environmental action.

During the three-day tour of New Hampshire, Delaney will hold public meet and greets in Bedford, Nashua, Laconia, Meredith, Conway, Lancaster, and Deerfield.

Last week, Delaney announced his Commitment to Black America policy package. Delaney previously announced a host of policies, including his plans to revitalize rural America, lower prescription drug prices, and invest in negative emissions technology to combat climate change.

WASHINGTON — Today, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel announced Marcia Lee Kelly will serve as President and CEO for the 2020 National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina.

A first generation Korean-American, Kelly has worked on two presidential transition teams and three Republican National Conventions in Minneapolis, Tampa, and Cleveland. In 2016, she served as Director of Operations where she managed overall logistics and a budget of $27 million and dozens of venues. Most recently, Kelly was the Assistant to the President, Director of White House Management and Administration and Director of the Office of Administration where she oversaw hundreds of personnel and was responsible for the day-to-day management and centralized operations efficiency across the Executive Office of the President.

"Marcia’s extensive background in organizing events of this scale will ensure Charlotte is our most successful convention yet," said Chairwoman McDaniel. "I'm thrilled to have Marcia leading our team as we continue to celebrate President Trump’s America First momentum in the Queen City."

"I am thrilled to serve as President and CEO of the Republican National Convention especially in Charlotte, which has so much to offer as our host city," Kelly said. "Our team will work to plan and execute a national convention that will not only nominate President Trump and Vice President Pence, but also provide an unforgettable experience for our attendees."

The four-day event hosted by the Queen City is expected to attract 50,000 visitors including 15,000 credentialed members of the media, host 1,200 individual events, and will be watched by an estimated 32-million viewers via live broadcast.

Minneapolis, MN — Today, the Amy for America presidential campaign announced it raised over $5.2 million in just seven weeks. Klobuchar’s contributions, combined with the over $3 million she raised last year, bring her end of the quarter total to over $8 million with $7 million cash on hand.

The Amy for America campaign has been focused on connecting with voters and grassroots donors across the country, engaging nearly 100,000 new supporters online in the first seven weeks of the campaign. Klobuchar’s average online grassroots contribution was $40 and 85 percent of all donors gave less than $100.

On the day she announced her candidacy for president, Klobuchar said her campaign would be a “homegrown one.” In the last seven weeks, Klobuchar has reinforced that point -- she’s met with thousands of voters across ten states, participated in town halls, answered hundreds of questions about the issues facing our country and shared her plans to create an optimistic economic agenda that will move America forward.

88-Year-Old Senator to Highlight Progressive Issues on Debate Stage

San Francisco, CA:​ Former Alaskan Senator Mike Gravel announces that he is  officially launching his campaign on Monday. The outspoken and progressive  octogenarian has paired with two New York students to launch a grassroots  campaign that will allow the Senator to put America’s imperialist foreign policy on  trial at the Democratic debates. 

"I'm excited to run for president in order to qualify for the Democratic debates. My  message, centered around an anti-imperialist foreign policy and fundamental  political reform, is one that no other Democratic candidate is making the  centerpiece of their campaign. After the first two debates, I will drop out and  endorse the most progressive candidate,” Sen. Gravel said.

Gravel is going to make it to the debates, but in order to qualify, he needs 65,000  individual donations from people in 20 states across the country. Instead of  seeking to hold office, the campaign will force the Democratic establishment to  participate in a difficult and necessary conversation about the nation’s ceaseless  warmongering, whether it’s the war on terror, the war on drugs, or the war on  immigrants.

The campaign has generated excitement around a no-nonsense, relentless social  media storm, challenging other candidates on their progressive bona fides and  raising questions about their dedication to take on healthcare companies, AIPAC,  the military-industrial complex, and the powerful American oligarchy. 

More than 5,000 individual donors have already contributed to Mike Gravel’s  campaign to make it to the debates. Popular donation amounts are $1 and $4.20,  with an average donation hovering around $3. All campaign funds that are not  spent getting Gravel on stage will be donated to organizations that will help Flint,  Michigan get clean water, and to other charities.

Julián Castro To Host ‘People First’ Rally In Conjunction with Trump San Antonio Trip

SAN ANTONIO, TX (April 8, 2019) – On Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at 6:00 PM CT, former Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under President Obama and San Antonio Mayor, Julián Castro, will host a ‘People First’ rally in conjunction with President Trump’s trip to San Antonio. Secretary Castro announced the event on Twitter, noting “San Antonio prides itself on its culture, its hospitality, and its diversity—the opposite of what Donald Trump stands for. Join us on April 10th—let’s show him what a strong, diverse America looks like.”

On Tuesday, April 2, Secretary Castro became the first 2020 democratic candidate to unveil an immigration policy. The ‘People First Immigration’ policy, released via Medium, would overhaul our immigration system, create a more just and compassionate border policy, and establish a 21st century Marshall Plan for Central America to re-engage our Latin American partners and address the root causes of migration. On Tuesday, April 2, Secretary Castro discussed his immigration policy with MSNBC's Rachel Maddow, who described the People First immigration policy "complex, detailed, and far-reaching."

The first-in-the-field plan would, among other reforms, establish a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, reconstitute and reform immigration enforcement agencies and practices, overhaul asylum and detention policies, and properly equip our ports-of-entry to process claims and prevent criminal activity. In a tweet posted Monday, April 8, Secretary Castro called on the Senate not to confirm a replacement for U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, unless they commit to treating asylum seekers humanely--including refusing to separate children from their parents at the border.
