FORMER TRUMP SENIOR ADMINISTRATION OFFICIAL, KEN CUCCINELLI, LAUNCHES NEVER BACK DOWN PAC URGING RON DESANTIS TO ENTER THE 2024 PRESIDENTIAL RACE
ATLANTA, GA. — March 9, 2023 — Former Acting Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security and Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli today launched NEVER BACK DOWN PAC urging Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to enter the 2024 presidential race.
“I have been speaking to many grassroots conservative activists around the country who are very enthusiastic for Governor DeSantis to run for President in 2024,” Cuccinelli stated. “The energy is there, grassroots conservatives see the Governor as a leader and a fighter with a winning conservative track record who will lead the Republican Party to victory in 2024. Based on those conversations, I am most confident that we will build an unmatched grassroots political army for Governor DeSantis to help carry him to the White House.”
Cuccinelli served in the Trump Administration as Acting Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security from 2019- 2021 as well as Acting Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. He served as Attorney General of Virginia from 2010-2014 and a Virginia State Senator from 2002-2010. Cuccinelli is a constitutional lawyer who has fought on the front lines of the conservative movement for more than two decades defending the Constitution and protecting the Rule of Law.
“Under his leadership, Governor DeSantis has made Florida the number one destination for all Americans looking for a brighter future and a better life, with more freedom and opportunity than anywhere else in America. Governor DeSantis has a proven record defending our borders, defending our kids, defending parental rights, defending the unborn, defending small business, and he’ll defend America,” said Cuccinelli.
“America’s future is Ron DeSantis. Ron DeSantis doesn’t just talk he acts, but most of all he never backs down. Governor DeSantis, today I’m asking you to run for President. You’ve had our back now we will have yours,” Cuccinelli says in a video launching NEVER BACK DOWN PAC.
In addition to Cuccinelli, NEVER BACK DOWN PAC will be led by Executive Director Chris Jankowski, a seasoned political entrepreneur with over 25 years of national and grassroots political experience. Jankowski was a driving force behind the early development of the Republican Attorneys General Association and the Republican State Leadership Committee, providing strategic guidance and political operations skills that helped lead both organizations to significant victories for Republicans at the state level across the country.
Jankowski also helped develop the REDMAP project, a strategy successfully implemented to expand Republican control of state legislatures. REDMAP was so consequential that former President Barack Obama cited it when forming the Democrat response to counter REDMAP. In 2020, Jankowski also served as a senior advisor to Republican candidates up and down the ballot, including working on Congressman Bob Good’s (VA-05) narrow win, a race that FiveThirtyEight.com rated as the “most toss-up” in the nation two weeks before Election Day.
