United Auto Workers Endorse President Joe Biden

Today, United Auto Workers (UAW) announced their endorsement of President Biden and Vice President Harris for reelection at the UAW’s National “Stand Up For Our Future” Conference in Washington, D.C.

In his remarks, UAW President Shawn Fain cited President Biden’s historic commitment to union and labor rights, and the threat that Donald Trump poses to American workers:

“When I first came into office, we made some headlines by saying that our endorsements would be earned,” said UAW President Shawn Fain. “Joe Biden bet on the American worker and Trump blamed the American worker. We need to know who’s going to sit in the most powerful seat in the world, and help us win as a united working class. So, if our endorsements must be earned, Joe Biden has earned it.”
In accepting the endorsement during today’s event, President Joe Biden said:

“We have more work to do, but our plan is delivering for the American people, building an economy from the middle out and the bottom up, not the top down. That’s what I said I was going to do, that’s what I tried to do as a senator and vice president. Because when we do that, the poor have a ladder up and the middle class does well, and the wealthy do well – although they should be paying a hell of a lot more taxes. We all do well. It’s called Bidenomics…

“This is a fundamental break from what used to be called trickle-down economics - that some Democrat presidents did as well as Republican… not a lot of trickle-down on my dad’s kitchen table growing up. There wasn’t a lot. The idea was if the wealthy do very well there’d be a lot left over and it’ll trickle down onto ordinary folks - well guess what, that trickle-down economy was super-charged by my predecessor. It cut taxes for the very wealthy and biggest corporations, it shipped good-paying jobs overseas because labor was cheaper, it shrank public investment in infrastructure and education, invested less. It hollowed out entire communities, closing factories... attacking unions, leaving too many Americans behind.

“In fact, when Donald Trump was in office, six auto factories closed around the country. Tens of thousands of auto jobs were lost nationwide during Trump’s presidency. During my presidency, we’ve opened 20 auto factories, with more to come. We’ve created more than 250,000 auto jobs all across America. And while I stood in solidarity with you on the picket line... Donald Trump went to a non-union shop and attacked you…

“We have a big fight in front of us. We’re fundamentally changing the economy in this country... All anyone wants is just a fair shot… That’s what my economic plan is all about. That’s what the UAW is all about. That's what your battle has been about. The days of working people being dealt out of the deal are over in this country as long as I’m president.”

Washington, D.C. – On Wednesday, January 24th, with hundreds of UAW members, leaders, and activists gathered at the union’s national Community Action Program (CAP) conference, the UAW announced its endorsement of Joe Biden for President of the United States.

Addressing the assembled members, UAW President Shawn Fain spoke to the issues facing the working class, and the strategic choice ahead in the 2024 presidential election.

“This November, we can stand up and elect someone who wants to stand with us and support our cause. Or we can elect someone who will divide us and fight us every step of the way,” said UAW President Shawn Fain. “That’s what this choice is about. The question is, who do we want in that office to give us the best shot of winning? Of organizing. Of negotiating strong contracts. Of uniting the working class and winning our fair share once again, as our union has done so many times in our nation’s history. We need to know who’s going to sit in the most powerful seat in the world and help us win as a united working class.”

Iowa GOP Releases Official 2024 RNC Delegate Allocation

DES MOINES – Following its 2024 First-in-the-Nation Caucus, the Republican Party of Iowa is releasing the official allocation of the 40 Iowa delegates to the 2024 Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

According to the Republican Party of Iowa's bylaws, Iowa's delegates to the Republican National Convention are proportionally allocated based on the results of the Iowa Caucus's presidential preference poll. In situations involving fractional results, proportional delegate allocation for each candidate is rounded to the nearest whole delegate.

Based on the final official results of the 2024 Iowa Caucus, delegate allocation is as follows:

In accordance with the Republican Party of Iowa's bylaws, delegates will remain bound on the first ballot to candidates even if they have dropped out of the presidential race. In the event that only one candidate's name is placed in nomination at the Republican National Convention, however, all of Iowa's delegates will be bound to support that candidate.

Kennedy Campaign Collects Neccesary NH Signatures in Just One Day to Get ‘Bobby on the Ballot’

CONCORD, NH—JAN. 23, 2024—The Kennedy campaign today collected in just one day the full 3,000 signatures needed to get on the ballot in New Hampshire, making New Hampshire the second state in the nation where Kennedy has reached the signatures it needs to take on the likely candidates Presidents Biden and Trump in the general election.

“I want to thank our dedicated supporters and volunteers who made this great accomplishment possible,” Kennedy said. “Democracy is much more than voting. I’m inspired by how enthusiastic people are to collect signatures, create new political parties, and rally for real change. This kind of energy is what will get us onto the ballot in every state and fuel our voter registration and GOTV operation as we head toward election day.”

Led by the campaign’s ballot access and field team, volunteers from across New Hampshire and every state in New England came together to gather voter signatures at nearly 100 precincts from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m.

“We had people ages 18 to 88 collecting signatures for RFK Jr.,” said Northeast Regional Field Director Larisa Trexler. “All of New England was represented. We made this our primary.”

New Hampshire was a major battleground between the Kennedy campaign and the Democratic National Committee while Kennedy was running as a Democrat. New Hampshire has traditionally been the first primary in the nation, following the Iowa caucus, but due to Kennedy’s broad support and Biden’s fears that Kennedy could win the primary, the DNC attempted to reorder the calendar and push New Hampshire to a later date. This made it clear that the DNC would go to any lengths to coronate Biden without a fair contest in the Democratic primary, which compelled Kennedy to declare his independence on October 9.

On that day, Kennedy declared: “American democracy should be more than just picking between two candidates anointed by shadowy institutions. Big Oil funds the Republicans. Big Tech funds the Democrats. Big Pharma and the military contractors make sure to donate to both. Instead of two parties, we have a uniparty, a monster with two faces loudly bickering with itself as it lumbers over a cliff.”

Kennedy is already on the ballot in Utah, the only state in which the signature submission deadline has now passed. The campaign launched a Ballot Access Headquarters page to keep media and supporters up-to-date on the campaign’s operations to get RFK Jr. on the ballot in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Earlier this month, supporters of independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. filed political party paperwork in six states — California, Delaware, Hawaii, Mississippi, North Carolina, and Texas. In the first five states listed, the “We the People” political party was formed and in Texas, the “Texas Independent Party” was created.

Three months ago, Kennedy returned to Philadelphia, the birthplace of the United States, and declared his independence from the “bankrupt two-party system.” He did so with the National Constitution Center behind him and the words “We the People” etched into the building by his side.

“We the people” are the first three words of the U.S. Constitution. These words symbolize that our government draws its power from the people that it was created to serve.

On Oct. 9, Kennedy said, “Like the Founding Fathers declared their independence from the crown more than two centuries ago, today we declare our independence from the corrupting influence of Wall Street and corporate donors that have rigged our economy for the few at the expense of the many.”

CONCORD, N.H. – Tonight, Nikki Haley vowed to continue her fight against the political class that is determined to coronate Donald Trump with 48 states yet to vote. After outperforming a slew of polls and pundit predictions, Haley challenged Trump to a debate:

“The other day, Donald Trump accused me of not providing security at the Capitol on January 6th. I’ve long called for mental competency tests for politicians over the age of 75. Trump claims he’d do better than me on one of those tests. Maybe he would, and maybe he wouldn’t. But if he thinks that, then he should have no problem standing on a debate stage with me!”

Haley is headed to South Carolina where she will host a rally in North Charleston tomorrow evening. Haley also has an initial $4 million ad buy starting in South Carolina tomorrow.

NIKKI HALEY’S REMARKS AS PREPARED FOR DELIVERY:

I congratulate Donald Trump on his victory tonight. He earned it. And I want to acknowledge that.

Now, you’ve all heard the chatter among the political class. They’re falling all over themselves saying this race is over.

Well, I have news for all of them. New Hampshire is first in the nation. It’s not last in the nation. This race is far from over. There are dozens of states left to go. And the next one is my sweet state of South Carolina!

At one point in this campaign, there were fourteen of us running, and we were at two percent in the polls. Well, I’m a fighter. Now, we’re the last one standing next to Donald Trump, and today we got close to half of the vote. We still have a ways to go, but we keep moving up.

For a lot of people, politics is way too personal. It’s not personal for me.

I voted for Trump twice. I was proud to serve America in his Cabinet. I agree with many of his policies.

I decided to run because I’m worried about the future of our country, and because it’s time to put the negativity and chaos behind us.

We have an economy that is crushing middle class Americans. We have a border that is totally open and dangerous, creating a disaster in our country. We have schools that are failing too many of our children. And we have a world on fire, with war in Europe and the Middle East, and a huge and growing threat from China.

And then you look at Washington. We have a Congress that fights about everything and accomplishes nothing. And we have Joe Biden in the White House, making one bad decision after another, when he’s making any decisions at all.

Our country’s in a real mess. And the question is, who’s going to fix it?

With Donald Trump, Republicans have lost almost every competitive election. We lost the Senate. We lost the House. We lost the White House. We lost in 2018, in 2020 and in 2022.

The worst kept secret in politics is how badly the Democrats want to run against Trump. They know Trump is the only Republican in the country who Biden can defeat.

You can’t fix the mess if you don’t win the election. A Trump nomination is a Biden win and a Kamala Harris presidency.

I defeat Biden handily.

With Donald Trump, you have one bout of chaos after another. This court case, that controversy, this tweet, that senior moment. You can’t fix Joe Biden’s chaos with Republican chaos.

In the next two months, millions of voters in over twenty states will have their say. We should honor them and allow them to vote. And guess what, in the next two months, Joe Biden isn’t going to get any younger or any better. We’ll have all the time we need to beat Biden.

When we get to South Carolina, Donald Trump is going to have a harder time falsely attacking me. The great people of South Carolina know I cut their taxes. They know I signed the toughest immigration bill in the country. They know we passed voter ID, and tort reform, and ethics reform, and they know we moved 35,000 people from welfare to work.

Every time I’ve run for office in South Carolina, I’ve beaten the political establishment. They’re lined up against me again. That’s no surprise. But South Carolina voters don’t want a coronation. They want an election. And we’re going to give them one.

Because we’re just getting started!

“Dean Phillips' vision for a more affordable America is clearly resonating with voters across New Hampshire, and the nation,” remarked Press Secretary Katie Dolan. “We are honored to have support from the New Hampshire Union Leader as more voters hear Dean’s message of affordability and the time for change.”

Greetings from Florida,
The warmth of being home is a reminder of why I have chosen a life of public service – from joining the United States Navy and serving in Iraq – to representing the people in Congress – and now serving as governor.

And it reminds me why I decided to run for President: to fight for those who have been forgotten in this country.

This is America’s time for choosing.

We can choose to allow a border invasion or we can choose to stop it.

We can choose reckless borrowing and spending or we can choose to limit government and lower inflation.

We can choose political indoctrination, or we can choose classical education.

These choices are symptoms of the underlying struggle to ensure that constitutional government can endure and that Western Civilization can survive.

We launched this campaign to bring accountability to government, regain sovereignty at our border, and restore sanity to our society.

We cannot succeed as a country if we allow our nation to be invaded, our currency to be debased, our cities to crumble, and our kids to be indoctrinated.

The DC elites who have facilitated this mess do not work for you, they do not care about you; they work for themselves. They seek to accumulate power at your expense to pursue an agenda that is harmful to the American people.

Citizens do not serve politicians; it is the duty of politicians to serve you.

Talk is cheap. Actions speak louder than words.

Reversing the decline of this nation requires leadership that delivers big results for the people we are elected to serve.

I have a record of leading with conviction, championing an agenda marked by bold colors, delivering on my promises, and defeating the people who are responsible for our nation’s decline.

Accordingly, I am today suspending my campaign.

It’s clear to me that a majority of Republican primary voters want to give Donald Trump another chance. They watched his presidency get stymied by relentless resistance and they see Democrats using lawfare to this day to attack him.

While I have had disagreements with Donald Trump, such as on the coronavirus pandemic and his elevation of Anthony Fauci, Trump is superior to the current incumbent, Joe Biden. That is clear.

I signed a pledge to support the Republican nominee and I will honor that pledge.

He has my endorsement because we can’t go back to the old Republican guard of yesteryear -- a repackaged form of warmed-over corporatism -- that Nikki Haley represents.
The days of putting Americans last, of kowtowing to large corporations, of caving to woke ideology, are over.

I thank all of our passionate supporters who have stood by us through it all. That we had people volunteer to come to Iowa in the middle of a blizzard to knock on doors and make phone calls touched us dearly.

No candidate had more thrown at him, but no candidate had so many committed volunteers and staff.

Finally, I want to thank my wife Casey and our kids Madison, Mason, and Mamie. Casey has gone far above and beyond in her support for our campaign and for our cause. She is not only a great wife and mother; she is a great American, who cares deeply about the future of the country that our kids will inherit.

Our kids have seen and done a lot on the trail, from playing on the famed Field of Dreams baseball site in Iowa to making their first snowman in New Hampshire.
They are one of the reasons we fight so hard for what we believe in.

Winston Churchill once remarked that “success is not final, failure is not fatal — it is the courage to continue that counts.”

While this campaign has ended, the mission continues. Down here in Florida, we will continue to show the country how to lead.

A hot mic moment from a candidate’s withdrawal speech made headlines recently. His assessment of Nikki Haley: “She’s going to get smoked.” The candidate was close in his assessment, but missed the mark. As the saying goes, where there’s smoke there’s fire. There is plenty of smoke around Nikki Haley because she is catching fire here in the Granite State.

She is catching fire for good reason. She is a smart, thoughtful, experienced candidate who is ready to be the next president of these great United States. She is easily the most qualified candidate on either ballot.

Nikki Haley is an accountant by career and training. Nikki Haley is a mother. Nikki Haley is a military spouse. Nikki Haley is the child of immigrants. Nikki Haley has experience as a successful governor and a diplomat.

It would be challenging to dream up a more solid resume for a candidate to guide our country through the troubled world which we face. Nikki Haley has the deft touch and nuance necessary of a leader on the world stage. This nuance has resulted in some unfriendly soundbites for Haley but we would encourage anyone given pause by a soundbite to do some research and dig into the details; you might be surprised. We can’t say that she is perfect on every issue. No candidate can be. She ticks more boxes than any of the others and does so with enthusiasm and an infectious optimism.

Of course, we can’t talk about Nikki Haley without addressing the elephant in the room and the rather old donkey hiding in the White House. Nikki Haley is an opportunity to vote for a candidate rather than against those two. A candidate who can run circles around the dinosaurs from the last two administrations, backwards and in heels.

She has the conservative mindset many Republicans want and the pragmatic ability to get things done that the whole country can get behind, especially the ever elusive and growing independent voters making up the silent majority. As the fictional Ian Malcolm says in Jurassic Park, “The dinosaurs had their shot, and nature selected them for extinction.” The dinosaurs from the last two administrations have indeed had their shot and Nikki Haley is the fireball from the heavens to wipe them out.

Putting forward a rematch of the last election means putting an octogenarian in the White House and putting a less-than-capable vice president in the on-deck circle. Haley has not been shy with the fact that she has at least a quarter-century age advantage on those candidates and she has a good point. Nikki Haley is in her prime and selflessly willing to give that prime to the country her parents chose to raise their family in. They knew it was the greatest country on earth and their daughter intends to do her part to keep it that way.

Like many candidates before her, Nikki Haley came to visit this newspaper. Especially telling of her character was that she took the time to visit and meet every employee in the building. Most candidates live in a bubble where they are the center of attention at all times. Taking the one-on-one time that she did shows a humanity and humility this nation would be lucky to have in its leader.

If you can select a Republican ballot on Tuesday, we urge you to select Nikki Haley as your next president. New Hampshire is ready for a change. America is ready for a change. The world is ready for a change. We want a better option than we have had for the past eight years, and Nikki Haley is that option.

New Hampshire can prove that the independent-minded voters of the Granite State will not be told the election is a done deal. New Hampshire can prove that nothing is inevitable and send Nikki Haley home to South Carolina with a head of steam and nothing weighing her down as she sets her sights on defeating the “inevitable,” but very vulnerable, Democratic nominee.
