President Biden Speaks Directly to Black America in New Ads Highlighting Promises Made, Promises Kept in Contrast with Trump
Today, as part of the Biden-Harris 2024 March month of action, the campaign released new ads which will air across TV and digital platforms – including the first ad where Black Americans will hear directly from President Biden. The ads are part of outreach efforts that remain the largest and earliest investment in Black media by a reelection campaign to date. In addition to highlighting the promises made and kept by President Biden and Vice President Harris to Black Americans specifically, they underscore what a disaster Donald Trump was for Black America.
“Price” and “Back” will run March 17 through April 21. The ads will run in Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, as well as across national Black-owned properties including NewsOne, Blavity, and The Shade Room. The ads will also run during NCAA March Madness via streaming platforms.
Biden-Harris 2024 also ran the digital ad “Get Ahead” during the notable NAACP Image Awards. The spot highlights the various ways President Biden and Vice President Harris have made equity a cornerstone of their administration’s policy agenda, resulting in lowered costs and increased economic opportunity for Black America. The ad ran during the nationally broadcasted NAACP Image Awards ceremony on Saturday.
“Donald Trump was a complete failure for Black America. Black unemployment and uninsured rates spiked, his botched response to COVID-19 put the lives of our community at risk, and he dismantled a rule that combated housing bias against Black Americans. From day one, President Biden and Vice President Harris have delivered. Black wealth is up 60% since the pandemic, Black unemployment hit a historic low, and over $137 billion has been forgiven in student loan debt, which disproportionately impacts Black borrowers,” said Biden-Harris Principal Deputy Campaign Manager Quentin Fulks. “The stakes are extremely high for Black America and unlike Donald Trump, President Biden and Vice President Harris have put in the work and are not taking a single voter for granted.”
