Harris Campaign Releases Latest TV Ad in Post-Convention Economic Airwaves Blitz
The New Ad – “Focused” – Contrasts Harris Plan to Take on Corporate Price Gouging with Trump Plan to Give Corporate Tax Cuts: “While corporations are gouging families, Trump is focused on giving them tax cuts. But Kamala Harris is focused on you.”
The Harris-Walz campaign released a new ad, “Focused,” as a part of its aggressive efforts to speak directly to voters about Vice President Harris’ economic agenda to lower costs and build up the middle class and contrast it with Donald Trump’s Project 2025 plans for tax giveaways to the ultra-wealthy and big corporations.
Following Vice President Harris’ speech at the Democratic National Convention, where she spoke about her roots being raised by a working mother in a middle-class neighborhood, Team Harris-Walz has blitzed the airwaves with economic ads to highlight the difference between her vision for an economy driven by a strong middle class and Donald Trump’s vision for a weak economy where only the ultra-wealthy do well. “Focused” marks the campaign’s fourth new economic ad since the convention – alongside “Opportunity,” “Everyday,” and “Full House” – bringing her message of building up the middle class directly to the American people, while Donald Trump is M.I.A. on the airwaves and can’t focus on voters’ top issue long enough to get through one speech.
The spot highlights Vice President Harris’ plan to lower costs for middle-class families by taking on price gouging and corporate speculators to lower grocery and housing costs. She is fighting for the middle class and running on a popular agenda that addresses their top issues by lowering costs for middle-class families as voters want to see action taken on corporate price gouging.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump’s plan is a $3,900 tax hike on the middle class – driving up costs and making life less affordable while sending our economy spiraling into a recession. And he is stuck defending his extreme and wildly unpopular Project 2025 agenda that includes giving tax cuts to greedy corporations and handouts to himself and his wealthy donors.
“Focused” is a part of Harris-Walz’s historic $370 million reservations on digital and television advertising running from Labor Day to Election Day. This investment ensures our campaign will continue to reach the voters who will ultimately decide this election on how Vice President Harris will deliver on the issues that matter most to their families, while Trump’s toxic Project 2025 agenda is extreme and would take the country backwards.
Last month, Vice President Harris laid out a bold agenda to bring down the costs of housing, prescription drugs, and groceries, while cutting taxes for middle-class families.
• Her plan would end the housing supply shortage in four years while taking on corporate landlords and providing down-payment assistance for first-time homebuyers.
• It includes the first-ever federal ban on price gouging on food and groceries along with measures to promote competition in the food industry and bring down prices.
• It would expand the Biden-Harris administration's $35 insulin cap and $2,000 out-of-pocket prescription drug cap to everyone, not just seniors, and cancel medical debt for millions of Americans.
• And it would cut taxes for middle-class families, offering up to a $6,000 tax credit per child and building on Vice President Harris' commitment to ensuring that no one earning less than $400,000 a year will pay more in new taxes under her administration.
The following is a statement from Harris-Walz National Spokesperson Charles Kretchmer Lutvak:
“This election, the choice comes down to a simple question: Which candidate is focused on the American people? Vice President Harris knows costs are still too high for Americans and has a plan to bring them down and build up the middle class. Donald Trump either doesn’t get it or doesn’t care, which may explain why his ‘economic plan’ is to give tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy and big corporations. With four new ads since the convention highlighting Vice President Harris’ plan to build up the middle class, Team Harris-Walz is making clear to voters every single day the answer to that question: Kamala Harris will always be focused on you, your family, and your pocketbook, while Donald Trump will always put himself and his ultra-wealthy friends first.”
NARRATOR: We all know costs are too high.
But while corporations are gouging families, Trump is focused on giving them tax cuts.
But Kamala Harris is focused on you.
VICE PRESIDENT HARRIS: Building up the middle class will be a defining goal of my presidency.
NARRATOR: She’ll make groceries more affordable by cracking down on price gouging.
And she’ll cut housing costs by taking on corporate speculators.
Middle class families built America.
We need a leader who has their back.
VICE PRESIDENT HARRIS: I’m Kamala Harris, and I approve this message.
