Governor Tim Walz to Campaign in the Southwest
From October 8-9, Governor Tim Walz will continue his Western state travel swing in Nevada and Arizona for a series of campaign events, including rallies in Reno and Tucson, a veterans and military families event with Representative Ruben Gallego (AZ-03) and Jim McCain, son of former Republican Arizona Senator John McCain, and a tribal leaders event with Governor Stephen Roe Lewis. With early voting in Arizona starting on October 9, Governor Walz will urge Arizonans to get out and vote.
The trip marks his second solo trip to the Southwest since becoming Vice President Harris’ running mate. Throughout his visit, Governor Walz will highlight how Vice President Harris is charting a New Way Forward that protects our fundamental freedoms, strengthens our democracy, and ensures that everyone has the opportunity to not just get by, but get ahead. He will draw contrast with Donald Trump and JD Vance’s extreme and dangerous Project 2025 agenda that raises costs on families and attacks our rights and freedoms.
