Senator Tim Scott To Run For Chairman Of The National Republican Senatorial Committee
With broad support from his Republican U.S. Senate colleagues, and a strong fundraising record, Senator Scott is prepared to lead Republicans into the midterms
CHARLESTON, SC - U.S. Senator Tim Scott formally announced today he will seek the chairmanship of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC). With Republicans taking control of the U.S. Senate in 2024, Senator Scott will also be Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee.
“Let’s do this! I’m running for NRSC Chair because two years of a Republican agenda is good, but four years of success under Donald J. Trump is even better,” said U.S. Senator Tim Scott. “That means the entire four years of his presidency will create low inflation, secure borders, and safe streets leading to a generation of American prosperity! With Donald J. Trump in the White House and Republicans leading the U.S. Senate, we will protect our majority in 2026 and create opportunities for all Americans.”
Tim Scott was active throughout the 2024 campaign supporting Donald J. Trump for President and Republican U.S. Senate candidates across the country. The Senator campaigned with every top U.S. Senate candidate, and directly raised or gave millions to Republicans up and down the ballot.
Senator Scott’s announcement has earned praise from his Republican U.S. Senate colleagues:
Senator Steve Daines: “We took back the U.S. Senate in 2024, and there is no one I trust more to protect the majority in 2026 than Tim Scott.”
Senator John Barrasso: “Tim’s inspiring message, record of fundraising, and vision for the party makes him the perfect partner for President Trump. Together, they will protect and grow the Republican Majority. There’s nobody better than Tim Scott.”
Senator Marco Rubio: “Protecting the majority and growing the party starts with a vision and the resources to compete anywhere. That is why I’m confident in Tim leading the NRSC into 2026.”
Republican leadership elections will take place on Wednesday, November 13.
