John Kasich to Keynote CAGOP 2016 Convention Dinner Banquet on Friday, April 29, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport in Burlingame
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The California Republican Party announced today that Presidential candidate and Ohio Governor John Kasich will keynote the CAGOP 2016 Convention Dinner Banquet on Friday, April 29, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport in Burlingame.
“No stranger to facing tough challenges, Governor Kasich has always taken a commonsense, results-oriented outlook,” said California Republican Party Chairman Jim Brulte. “He has used conservative principles to solve seemingly intractable problems throughout his career and we look forward to hearing his take on the challenges facing our nation.”
As a participant in the Reagan revolution, Governor Kasich is passionate, optimistic, and energized about the future of the Republican Party,” said California Republican Party Vice Chair Harmeet K. Dhillon. “As the excitement for the 2016 election cycle continues to strengthen among Republicans in California, I am certain that our Convention attendees will be excited to hear the Governor speak about the role California will play in that process.”
As Governor, John Kasich’s top priority is to create a jobs-friendly climate so Ohioans can get back to work. By closing an $8 billion budget shortfall without a tax increase, reducing taxes, cutting wasteful spending and eliminating red tape, Governor Kasich has put Ohio back on track.
“I’m very excite to be joining California Republicans at their convention so we can talk about the challenges facing Americans and the commonsense solutions we can make happen,” said Governor John Kasich.
Governor Kasich served as a member of Congress from central Ohio for 18 years on the House Armed Services Committee, and as the chairman of the House Budget Committee where he led the effort to balance the federal budget for the first time since 1969.
He has also had a successful career as an investment banker, New York Times best-selling author, and FOX News contributor.
